- Catching Redfish has never been easier!! In this video I head down to Port Sulphur Louisiana to go inshore fishing for redfish. we didn't need live bait to catch these redfish, all they wanted were the best redfish lures around the ole wake bait!! Live in WI but fish LA every winter. I've fished PAC, Hopedale, Venice but most of my time is in the Port Sulphur area although I'm constantly looking for new areas to fish. I've had some really good days in the area you fished in this video. Nice job and tight lines!

I'm I did really good in West Bay in Florida. My favorite bait was those big boy mullet. Almost big enough to eat. You get those ones you have to throw back unless you can hide it real good. 🤫
Fished Delacroix, we found the redfish staged in a cove. We fished that cove for multiple days and landed them everyday. Some days they would eat anything and one of the days they wanted live shrimp. Deff a blast, it’s the redfish capital of the world!

I live about 2 hrs away from Port Sulpher but im definitely gonna have to make a trip now, redfish are my favorite saltwater fish to catch and eat.

What’s up Southern Salt! I’m in VA and the redfish are just as good and fighting and just as good as eating. I’m 19 getting back into fishing and I caught my first one not too long ago a little over 20-25 inches. If you travel, I’d love to get some bites with you. Good fishing 🫡

@southernsalt you'd love it there's a few roadside areas to launch a kayak on hwy 1 a few miles before you get to the island too.
Ex inlaws used to live in Nola. Fished Bayou Desalemens for bass & wound up with 2 NICE reds on gold Rat-L-Traps

hey Salt, im down here on the LNG project staying down near venice, I had my boat out here all summer but brought it home for winter. Was curious out of where your launching as I was thinking of bringing the Kayak and doing some short runs in the marsh. In the 70’s I fished Buras out of Empire Marina. We would catch 200+ for three men get out boat and fish the bank in dames off canals. That marsh is all gone but the fish are still there.

Man that is a very complex question lol. Most likely you’re fishing areas that are not very productive during the times you are there but it is very difficult to know for sure.

How often do you keep a redfish? They're my favorite fish to eat and it seems like the southeast US is in no short supply of them. I'm just getting into fishing and I plan to have redfish in the freezer as often as possible lol.

Your supposed 2nd lure is NOT a yo-zuri 3db wake bait. It has a jointed body and a rear prop. Yours is not! So what IS the correct model you are using? We ALL would like to know. Your videos are always fun and easy to follow with your tips and bait challenges. BTW Louisiana IS a "Sportsmans Paradise."
🤦♂️ it 100 percent is a Yozuri 3DB Wakebait. If you knew the history of the Yozuri 3DB Wakebait you wouldn’t sound so mis informed right now. In 2022 Yozuri discontinued the wakebait I’m using in the video and re-branded a wakebait with a prop and jointed body.
