Thank you so much! I finally know and in the right track to mitigate this nightmare!
Please have other doctors get educated on this. I have a normal opening pressure, I get dropped down to 7 and I am symptom free. I do not have swelling in my optic nerve. I have every single symptom of IIH and do well on Diamox. I wish doctors would look more at symptoms and not just general textbook. I’m such an odd case, but I’m not alone, many others are similar.
Hello there. Speaking of “odd,” I’m a healthy 39 yr old male with IIH. First opening pressure 35 closing at 17.5. Second, not much better. I’ve tried Acetazolamide AND Diamox. Both make my symptoms (Tinnitus) much worse, not to mention the sharp pain in the groin area. I am the exact opposite of the typical candidate 5’10” 200lbs 20% body fat. Neurosurgeon I saw said that the only cases like mine that he’s seen, the patient was already blind. Kinda scary I guess. 1 in 100,000 ppl with this and 98% are obese females. Maybe I should play the lottery. Prayers for you, friend.
Can I please ask do you get your eye checked during the 'headaches'? Thanks
Pounding headache=high intracranial pressure
So somebody can have normal blood pressure but hypertention in the brain?
YES! I have has IIH for 5 years and had normal blood pressure the whole time. Also, expect the last 2 years (2020 sucked for everyone) I have been of average weight. Get your eyes checked. The most common diagnosis is from a swollen optic nerve.
I've suffered from Chronic Cluster Headaches for 10 years, could this be what it really is?
You should speak to your doctor about this.
@@NationalHeadacheFoundation Thanks for the tip, I'll mention it my next appointment.

@@ileryon4019 I'm going to ask my doctor about it soon, thanks for asking. I'll reply back when I know more, take care.
