Thank you for this video! I'm a recruit going through academy for a volunteer department currently. I joined because I genuinely want to help as many people as possible, so it honestly surprises me that some people don't feel the same way when they are there for years. My instructors have said it is important to have your heart in Firefighting, otherwise someone could get seriously hurt.
Well i dont know about the firefighting part , but as a paramedic i thank my lucky stars for the situations like that lady calling for a painkiller . Its the calls in which patients self medicate/help (which can and will mean a lot of things ) before they call you i fear .
Well, my point here is that if you work on a department where the suppression units are ALS and run “boo boo” calls, you can avoid “the box” but not the “boo boo” type calls. You just have to know what you’re getting into.
