I can't believe they're finally acknowledging the Netflix show as canon. I genuinely cannot explain how happy I am to see both Vincent and Charlie returning in these roles. I really hope Echo is good and that it performs well sothat Disney can realise that there is a huge audience for mature superhero content, and that we can see these characters return in their full glory in the future.
I hope Echo ends up being the MCU’s Andor and I mean that in the best way possible

yes but not fully tho, that's how soft reboots work, you take some parts from the previous shows and make them cannon if you want, but not everything that happened in those shows will be cannon tho

Then there was Jarvis from Agent Carter appearing in Endgame, then Matt Murdock appearing in Spider-Man, then Kingpin appearing on Hawkeye, then Daredevil appearing on She-Hulk. After Hawkeye was released, Vincent D'Onofrio repeatedly said in interviews that he was playing the exact same Wilson Fisk as on Marvel's Daredevil. @@biglliamthey’re a part of the mcu but not all are in the sacred timeline. The official MCU timeline book says not all of the tv series may be canon to the main timeline. Agents of Shield just wasn’t included in the book. Maybe they can retcon it’s existence to an extent but not all of it is compatible with how the mcu is going

I'm pretty sure Daredevil wasn't included in that book either though and Matt Murdock appeared in No Way Home, Kingpin appeared on Hawkeye, Daredevil appeared on She-Hulk, and now this trailer features footage from Daredevil. So, I guess the shows could still be canon even if they weren't included in the book. Just like how the official stance of Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios before was that Agents of SHIELD was in the MCU but now seem to have changed their minds because the show is not included in the book, they could change their minds again later and include those characters in future movies or shows.
Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin is definitely one of the best comic book castings ever seen.
I hope they maintain the grounded tone of the Netflix series while also making Kingpin comically strong like in Hawkeye

Have a feeling he’ll be closer to the Daredevil Kingpin than Hawkeye Kingpin, in keeping with the more grounded tone of the show. But then if he goes onto appear in something like Spider-Man he’ll need to be more exaggerated and comic booky. I don’t have a problem with characters changing between different stories like that - it’s what happens in comics all the time

@@philcorrigan5641 Not a chance. They want consistency. Netflix Daredevil at this point isn't canon, they're just using the same actors. He's going to be consistent with what was established in Hawk-eye, which means ripping cars door off and taking 10 arrows.
Watching characters become weaker or stronger based on who they're fighting is infuriating. Like Doomsday in BMvSM has the SPEED to catch Superman and Wonder Woman, but then can't catch Batman in the very next scene.

The feel is similar, definitely, and it might be an intentional choice to "echo" the vibe of the Daredevil theme by using an arpeggio with similar chords, but it might also just be a composer using an arpeggio because arpeggios are good at building tension. Lots of film, television and trailer music relies heavily on arpeggios. It's basically just when you take chords and break them down into patterns of rising and/or falling notes instead of playing all the notes at the same time. Very easy to do, and can very easily be very effective.

Vincent D'Onofrio is the MAN. I can't believe how so many decades after Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket that I could be so blessed to see his presence on the small screen as well. The man is truly brilliant and his performances in DD and Punisher were unrivalled.

But in Hawkeye he has never been arrested, so the events don't make sense at all, unless this is a soft reboot like the characters are the same, some of the background story is the same but other stuff that happened in Daredevil never happened in the MCU

I've always believed that all of the Netflix shows were canon in the MCU, I mean there has been plenty of definitive evidence to prove it, but now it appears to be getting even clearer so yeah. Also, it is pretty cool to see that Echo will be having a much darker and slightly more serious tone to it, kind of like the Netflix shows originally had so I can't wait to see how that is fully shown off in the series!

I doubt they're all canon. I would guess Iron Fist is getting recast, but they appear to be keeping Daredevil in isolation.

Echo is one of my favorite Marvel characters ever and I am very excited to watch her in this show.

I would love to see a battle between daredevil and kingpin again its been a while
This brings me back now much l loved the 90s cartoon kingpin.
The only disappointment I have is that this will only be 5 episodes! It looks incredible but I don't know if that is enough to really give all the elements and characters the development they deserve.

tbh, if 5 eps is all they needed, im fine with it. Yeah, its not a lot, but I take that any time of the day over too much watered down series. I like, when the series doesnt have strict count on the eps and they can let it be paced out the way the particular series needs to be. Hope this is the case here.
Maybe they don't want to fully commit after all the recent flops.
Depends on the scope of the story and the episode length. If it's 40-minute+ episodes for a relatively short but impactful story, I think it could work.

in Daredevil show Kingpin identity was exposed to the public and he was arrested, but in Hawkeye show Kingpin identity was a secret from the public and he was a free man.
So some things will be cannon, others won't, unless they can somehow justify how Kingpin escaped the prison and made everyone forget about his identity

Just yesterday, Brad Winderbaum (executive producer of ECHO) confirmed that Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders and The Punisher are all canon. This promo also pretty much confirms it. I can’t wait to see the return of Daredevil and Kingpin.
Agent Carter is canon as it’s produced by Feige and one of the characters from that show was in Endgame when they time travel.
