Origami Tutorial - Japanese Box with Cranes [Senbazuru]

Although this folding is not an “origami” in the purest sense since we need to use scissors in its early stages, I love how elegant this box is, decorated as it is with traditional cranes on every corner. That is why I wanted to share this tutorial with you today. This is not an easy origami, due to the fact that the sides of the box hinder folding the cranes. In addition, the cranes themselves are pretty small, so you should start from a fairly large square sheet of paper: here I used a 8” square sheet, giving a 2.8” box. Enjoy!
