Yes, it‘s actually a nice side project to work on with the guitar. In contrast to the guitar it‘s less stressful and cheaper, haha. A nice little break here and there and quick to do. I‘ve been wanting to pepper in videos on my channel that aren‘t guitar related here and there and I think I will explore kumiko a bit more as I have found it so fun already.
@@CMRWoodworks Thank you, I’ll be watching. I know nothing of kumiko but I was expecting its precise cuts and tension to hold it together without glue. Be sure to wear ear protection for all the table saw work.
@@charlesdavis7616 oh yeah ear protection for sure. I have had the same Ryobi ear muff style protectors since I started woodworking. They hurt my ears a little after prolonged use, but work great. I‘ve been thinking about switching to ear plugs. I have always had issues with the respirator and ear muffs together. Just so much on my head. I‘m planning on getting a full face respirator because I‘ve been so paranoid about breathing any dust. I‘ll definitely need to downsize to ear plugs if I get that space helmet looking thing.
It‘s not so interesting with the basic grid I made, but once you add all of the infill pieces it really starts to look cool. Looking forward to doing that! Thanks for watching!
Love that you're trying new things and teaching us along the way. Check out Mike Farrington's channel as well as he also does some kumiko as well as a tonne of great woodworking
Super cool. I am going to have to check the book out.
You should! It is pretty fun.
Very interesting and informative. A real departure from the guitar build.

Been thinking of picking up the same book. I don't know if I would ever try tackling doing kumiko, but it just looks so cool!
