The beauty of this is the very fact that you are having the atheist/agnostic/christion conversation means that this song has done its job by planting seeds and starting conversation about our saviour. May god bless all of you.
Amen praise you Lord for using us to Glorify you and reach people for you, for using us in way's that would reach people know other way. your will Jesus Amen
Agree! there isn't only certain type of song that gloryfy God. Even Hymes in olden day when it first came out, I'm sure there were people saying "wow these hyms are too extream, its not holy enough" w/e God creates new thing and he makes everything through us ! I know there are some chirstain song that u can't understnad a word and just shouting. Those aren't really glory becuz its just screming. But this song, you can hear the word and they are nice ppl I saw them in real person. grace to ya
As they were shooting this video I can only imagine in my mind their circle of guarding Angels were invisibly hoovering over, some being stationed along the sides, are watching carefully over them but are Bobbing their heads slightly and Flapping their majestic wings at the same time..And probably saying to themselves, hmmm what a Divine Rap..What i will call it is Supernatural Funk..

i like what your sayin. Organized religion itself like from our parent isn't the same way we relate to God. Most times it's on a personal level and I feel that's what people need to realize, that God is someone you come to know, not something you can be taught and memorize so much.

And because these records sold to the customers of America, the record labels shut out those who did the original hip hop of
"Whoever thought that a lost crook would/get brought to the point where the cross look good?" Love Cross Movement. What's with these cats saying hip-hop's roots are in voodoo? This just proves that you don't have to cuss to make rap sound good. I really hate it when I hear people listening to those rappers that cuss every other word. It's uncalled for.
hey i met these guys, and they really are saved, we talked to them, and they could tell us the day they gave there lives to christ and they arent just a bunch of dudes dressed like thugs. maybe you dont like there style, and neither do i, but if thats what they want to wear who really cares! Im sure Jesus isnt grading them based of there clothing. anyways i love the song!
Matthew 7 Judging Others 1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
and unity, are poor guys in the ghetto, what power do they have to show people what real hip hop is? They don't have the money, and they could sell out and rap about that party excess gang lifestyle, to make money, but they'd rather be poor than sell out like that, they'd rather be true to hip hop's message of love in the culture, than in making the millions of dollars.
lol, no bro. I'm a Christian, going to be a Pastor later, but I'm also involved in real hip hop culture. Did you even know bboying (breakdancing, the incorrect name) is a part of hip hop, and was there before mcing (rapping)? I can tell you the exact origin of hip hop. It started on Sedgwick Ave. in the South
I understand your opinion, and musical preference, but it's just that--a preference. A lot of the music and chord progressions used in modern day Gospel music (or even old-school Gospel) were considered the devil's music by the church for years on end. Today, the tritone and flat 5 are key (no pun) elements for Gospel organists. Some people won't be reached with tracts and stuffy hymns. When you disallow a style of praise, or a type of outreach, you shorten the hand of God.
i mean then you can look at the book of psalms and call that "of the flesh" because that was their music style back then. you can call matt redman's music "of the flesh" because it's pretty much pop. likewise with starfield, hillsongs, or pretty much whatever you listen to. the hymnals you hear were based on the music of the past as well. the music glorifies God by having an evangelistic approach. it praises God and claims Him as the only thing we really need.
???? .... I never said I was against this, Cross movement is one of my favorite groups. Read my comments again, you're misunderstanding, when I said, "So it's ungodly as well, when Christians started doing contemporary Christian music, not
im a true hip hop fiend started with WuTang im sure yall know they 5%ers(blasphemy, 7th nation of Islam) i cant help but luv thier music...but christian or just religious rap dont do so well i dont like KJ52 seems like he bites M style to much but these guys Cross and Lacrea are very good "ORIGINAL"(key word)rappers i wish them the best of luck the world needs more positive messages in rap as for WU 35% is blasphamy but i just cant help but listen im a fiend for this hip hop shit GODBLESS
i checked it out...idk, kinda seemed like he was just talkin throughout the whole song, but i have to admit, after listenin to it 2 or 3 times i gotta say its pretty good in its own way but at the end i still like this song better..sorry, i just do
doing hymns, and using instruments like drums, and guitars, that weren't there in Church history before?" That was a rhetorical question I proposed towards someone who was against hip hop Christian music, because he said it was "worldly," and I was using sarcasm to say, so is music like Casting Crowns, or Third Day, worldly just because it broke out from the traditional old Church hymns? Read my comments again, you totally misunderstood everything I said.
So it's ungodly as well, when Christians started doing contemporary Christian music, not doing hymns, and using instruments like drums, and guitars, that weren't there in Church history before? Those things were brought in from the world as well, but used to glorify God. Chris Tomlin's style of music wasn't originally how the Church's style of music was, it's not hymns, is Chris Tomlin ungodly?
Well I'm not sure if either of those terms apply to me. Although my parents are christian I never have been, but I am spirtual always have been. I don't believe in organised religion. If you had to label me I suppose you could call me a humanist.
@RobertBaral365 but he is not. In fact, he throws the documents in the principles face as proof that you have done wrong. He tells the principle, " if I get punished so should this one." The principle's hands are tied. There is nothing he can do but punish you. You look at satan and ask him why. he looks at you and says, "My days were numbered. From day one may purpose was to steal, kill and destroy. I have no friends only enemies." The little time on the playground following satan lead to...
nah man, none of these guys came from Jedi Mind Tricks. Jedi Mind Tricks consist of Vinne paz who is white, stoupe who is white, and Jus Allah who is black but he's not 1 of them. Have a nice day man. Peace
So please know your facts on something before you go and call it something it isn't. Original hip hoppers created hip hop for the positive purpose to put their energy in to something that isn't crime, and sin.
@RobertBaral365 But you are not afraid of the principle...your friend has some authority too. The time comes when you must meet the principle. You are a little scared but you know your friend has your back, right? Well, when you get into the principles office your friend has DOCUMENTS. The principle want to let you off the hook but your friend satan won't let him. satan reminds the principle of the rules he must follows and how you broke them. You are confused. You thought he was your friend.
because I'm not a christian, I'm an atheist so therfore the message and meaning of the lyrics don't appeal to me and I can't relate to them because I don't agree. I respect it though. I think they've got a really positive vibe.
That was intense. Excellent work from CM.
