I live in Indonesia, and we don't have this new Serena. But we do have the new Voxy, CBU. It's around the same price as the Serena. However it looks like the Voxy is a more refined vehicle, but lose out in practicality to the Serena.

To be very honest, for that price you can't get a better more practical MPV at all for the price. It's a practical car that does what's it's supposed to do and that's it. In fact i love the fact they built an honest, comfy, practical MPV for a good price. What else can you buy for the money?

However, I've seen Nissan and Honda cars that have held up pretty very well over the years. I grew up in a home with a Toyota and my brother still loves the brand as well. Though I'm a huge fan of Honda and Nissan Motors.

Exora being a c segment mpv also, feels like a different animal compared to the C chassis (Serena). Lotus input made it ride and handle really well. Not to mention, the turbo gave it so much of excitement on the highway too. It is such a sad thing that the Exora CFE is overly underrated and it actually deserves more attention!

The front cupholder is ONLY use as cup holder. When you close it, the flap comes down, that means you can't use it to store coins etc. Hence the warning.
Yup I'm guessing the same thing. Possibly the gear leaver eats some space that the flippy part tries it's best to only allow it to work as cup holders only.
The Innova doesnt look as space age as the Serena, its form factor is also one that doesnt liberate as much space , but Toyota did such a great job with comfort of that car. But ultimately the Serena gives you the feeling of what an MPV should give, that super spacious feeling whereas the Innova is still rather passenger car like.

How I wish Toyota will CKD Noah and Honda CKD Stepwagon. Currently only Nissan CKD Serena. I mean he’s only industry player in this segment. I’ve tried Honda Stepwagon in 🇭🇰 & the ride and functionality is as good as Serena but quieter ride.
Yes, the flap will press the cup/bottle firmly... but to answer the question 29:02 why the warning sign is there : if you put small things like key, pen, slim phone etc and try to close it.... The flap will hit the things and the cup holder can't be fully closed. (same cup holder in my Serena C26)
Nissan cars have that "empty milo tin" (for need of better expression) sound, especially prevalent the x-trail. not that solid feel, and doors closing with clanking sound. NVH is crappy too. any Serena owners can feedback?

Given the form factor, the Serena feels more spacious, nice little touches here and there. But overall when you drive or ride in it, it's a completely different segment of product. The Kia feels like 10 years ahead in refinement whereas the Serena just crashes over everything with its poor suspension and poor handling. Like I said, go slow and amooth and you're fine - which no Malaysians drive like that. Lol

I personally cannot come to imagine how much of stress does this 1700kg mpv exert on the MR20DD engine. With much rpm needed to pull this car from standstill, I wonder will the engine last over the years or not.
Please guys.. DON’T buy this car. After 2yrs++ of ownership, it is a nightmare. 1. Rubbish quality. SC can’t fix the vibrating issue and ask u to accept it as a fact and nature of it. It wasn’t like vibrating that bad when it was new. Now this Serena vibrate more than my washing machine. 2. Power steering issues keep occurring even parts been replaced. 3. If you don’t mind wasting time to numerous visits to their crappy service center, then you may proceed to purchase this Serena. 4. A 2yrs++ car age quality, like a quality of a 7-8yrs Proton/Perodua.
yangerek deone the x70 in China sells ok one month more then Nissan sells its serena in 5 years! Just because it’s made in China doesn’t mean it’s unreliable. They are way ahead of Proton and Nissan as far as stats shows.

@15:30 Back in the early Honda CR-V Gen 1 and Gen 2 does have split rear boot opening. sadly Honda kill that idea when Gen 3 CR-V till the latest.
Spacious car for a cheap price it is what it is this car has no rear bumper so boot space is massive
