Yeah....I don't recall this game having overworld music either. I still wonder where it came from. It sounds like it would fit in with the Ys series nicely.
This song wasn't anywhere in the game... Some guy put this midi on VGMusic under "Zelda CD-i" but I played the game hoping to hear it and it was nowhere. It must be either original or from something else. This was back when the CD-i was this unattainable gem and we had no idea how awful these games were, heh. I wish I knew what this ACTUALLY was.
Yeah, I found this on Ganon's Tower at some point and though I loved it (played it repeat whenever I surfed) the fact that it had to be fake made me wonder what this actually is.
Now that I think about it more, I believe this played on the Lego extreme site main page (made by Video Gamer X, who created the Odyssey of Hyrule website so many years ago). Both are available on the internet archive.
Where the hell IS this from? It sure as hell isn't from any of the CDI games, isn't a pop song I've ever heard, and doesn't sound like a demoscene track. Is it from another game?
+tdark987 It's so strange. It showed up on vgmusic like 20 years ago under the title zcdioverworld.mid and since nobody had a CDi and nobody had seen those games everybody just kinda assumed it was from the soundtrack. Perhaps just an original piece somebody wrote and then claimed it was from an unattainable Zelda game to get people to hear it...
+Sam Beddoes I thought VGMusic submissions were moderated before being posted (mainly to deal with issues like plagiarism and mislabeled tracks). Unless the person who uploaded this was a moderator, of course.
+tdark987 Yeah, but back then it was highly unlikely that the moderator(s) would have had a CDi, and you couldn't just find footage on RUclips because it didn't exist.
+Sam Beddoes True, although there were collectors even at the time (e.g. Mike "TSA" Damiani, who was the webmaster of several Zelda sites back then); I'd have thought that at least one of them would have pointed out the discrepancy. Frankly this to me sounds more like an very inventive remix of SSBM's Final Destination than anything else.
So I just visited Odyssey of Hyrule (thanks to the internet archive) and what do you know, most of the .midi files that were on the site still play. There are several listed tracks as being from the CDI game but like this one, they don't seem to match up with the actual soundtrack we now find ripped from the game. Another interesting thing is what was listed as an alternate intro for NES Zelda (which there isn't one) when I downloaded it, the file says ff3cyan.

I played the game and never heard this song in it.
Well, if we can find whoever created this, we can ask them themselves
Holy crap, the last time I heard this must have been 1999 or so
2003 or '04 for me.

@Khan Afridi
Wait, so this track WAS for that game and Andrade made the track?
@DerRudymeister
I found this on loads of sites before this was uploaded.
I can only guess it was dummied out but was in the code though not used.

BTW that fake alternate NES Zelda title track, was it actually Cyan's theme or was "ff3cyan.mp3" another mislabel?

MeleeMario720 was here
I think this might be the Midi remix of the dungeon theme.
Care to try and compare?
this rocks my ass off
Sounds very MIDI.. but it's still decent!
Is Zelda Racing? it sounds like she just suited up for Kinetica
Dude, if you ever get an answer, I would love to check out the original. Or at least see if I can get someone I know to try their hand at this song.
Shitty game, awesome music.
This wasn't in that game, but we don't know where it's from either, which sucks because it's fucking awesome.
