He's not lying when he says real life ultra rich Asians can be crazier in their pursuit of "the very best life has to offer" than the books - he knows these people as friends and families.

Just finished watching Crazy Rich Asians, so I came to get more.😍Had an opportunity to meet Heart Evangelista during her husbands' electoral campaign in Dumaguete city. D funny thing is, I took some pics with her without even knowing who she was. All I knew was everyone wanted to take pics with her so I joined! 😂🤦♀
I do that too just so that if after some time I'd be a huge fan of them, atleast I have a picture even if I took it without knowing who they were at the time😂

What is humbling about these ladies is that they wear these expensive clothes not because they are expensive but they love the work and effort put into it. "It's actually like buying art" "Exactly, a wearable art" . They do not want to impress people only with their extravagance, they want to present the craft hard worked by the designer and I love the fact that they put so much thought on how these dresses were made and I think that is so elegant and classy.
That's an old money attitude, they don't have to flaunt their wealth and don't need others' to acknowledge their crazy high-class taste
This is also because of the fact that haute couture exists because someone sold their clothes as art. There is a whole history behind haute couture and I am glad these women are educated about this.
