For your information, Yoongi said in his meeting with IU that he had received offers from acting companies after the release of Daechwita, and they strongly asked him to join a historical drama whose events would be similar to Daechwita, but he refused on the grounds that he was not handsome like the rest of the actors.💔🙂
And I expect that after Haegeum, the acting companies will fight over Yoongi joining her and acting for her 😂😂

Honestly I think he just didn't really want to do it in general lol. Like he says that, but in the end he probably just didn't think acting was his thing or he didn't have to time or care to do it seriously. Which I can understand because everybody's got their own interests. Just because your good at something doesn't mean you have to do it professionally after all, only if your really passionate about it yk🙄. I think that was the case there too, one should devote themselves to what they're truly passionate about imo not just things they're good at😏☝🏾

at first i interpreted the smirk of detective agust d as "now i have nothing to lose" but now i like your interpretation more, and it makes sense bc in the lyrics from The Last, Yoongi said "Min Yoongi, i killed him" so it seems like in these videos he's killing every version of himself when they become greedy and selfish and when they become a version of himself that he don't like anymore

Well supposedly smoking anyway since we still don't know for certain if he was smoking or not. Honestly, it was just some blurry/pixelated photos and people made their assumptions based off that smh🤐. Rumors and gossip are all some people have to base bts off of and its so irritating I swear. But yea even if he was he's literally a grown man and can do what he wants💀so not only does it not matter but its none of their business what he does in the first place yk😭. Some people just got nothing better to do than critique idols and celebrities for doing the bare mininmum any normal human being has the right to do😅 (like smoke, drink, curse, or date)

Namjoon was asked if he could spend a last day on earth talking to one person (or something like that) who would it be and he picked Yoongi because “we still have so much to talk about”. It’s truly unfair how much talent is in BTS they are each motivating each other to explore and grow as artists. DDay is amazing and he leveled up across all areas.

You really need to watch the "amygdala" MV that was released about 6 hours ago..then you will have the full picture of AgustD ..in the "amygdala" it will be clear to you how the personality of agustd, the owner of the wound, originated and what it is..as you will know that he is nothing but the embodiment of his pain, suffering and fear that gathered From the events that he lived through, all of them will be clear to you in the MV..so you find that Yoongi in Daechwita killed the person who had the wound, but he did not disappear and returned to haunt him again in Haegeum, and this means that his painful memories refuse to leave him and disappear 💔
Since the release of the amygdala mv , my eyes have not stopped crying😭😭😭

And now you have to watch and react to Amygdala which was just released today. It is the third of the trilogy of AgustD. It will show you AgustD past and the reason why he has the scar. In these mv AgustD was like the rebel without a cause but he is expressing himself now. The chopsticks feeds you but don't forget it can also kill you. And yes he has the jacket of the detective at the end.
The "gold fish" in the water jug were like he was being entertained by looking at it just going around represents the idols like him who are kept in a box and not allowed to do anything what ordinary people do like smoking. Taehyung was bashed when he was photograph supposedly smoking and even JK when he went live people were bashing him for using vape. So AgustD (both characters) purposely lighted cigarettes to show everyone that he can smoke.

    always follow your intuition :))
yoongi really had this whole song and mv planned three years ago as part of a trilogy and a follow up for deachwita. even the color schemes for the music videos match, but then the lyrics for haegum...
just like the trilogy for his agust d albums, d day is a sort of final chapter, or like a wrapping up of things he started to talk about in agust d and in d2. he's said a lot of times that when releasing music under agust d he feels he can talk about heavier things, things that maybe don't suit an idol, prohibited things. and haegum is the anthem for all those prohibited things he wants to say freely. this third agust d album really feels like a liberation because he no longer dwells on the past and if he mentions things past, its not on a negative light.
edit: your analysis are always amazing, i always think, oh i've thought about that too, so just... i don't know, congratulations? i guess? just that we appreciate that you appreciate and that we thrive off of army reactors that actually pay attention and pause and enjoy. yeah.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad u spotted that there is 6 gang members with Suga. o.0 Suga always has BTS represented in his MVs. He so sweet. Jimin ult bias, Suga wrecker, OT7.
He looks so hot. Love the souvenir jacket his wearing. I have one too but mine is black and has cranes on it. I love dragons though and my fav color is blue & black. I kind of thought we would not have a song like Daechwita on this album. Well guess i was wrong, huh. 0.0 I was really surprised on 1st watch. I never thought he would connect 3 MVs together. 0.0 That is brilliant. Suga is such a genius. I love it. Suga during the premier said to listen to Daechwita, Haegeum, and Amygdala. So that's what i am going to do. Powerful song. I like that we continue the story from Daechwita. But this song is more violent. Geez. He is such a savage! I liked it. Good rhythm. Suga is a visual. Excited to rewatch the MVs in order like he suggested. Did u spot the Joker reference i missed that. Ur reaction was many of us. He is such a boss! Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army 💟
Borahae ARMY *KEZ* said on 4/21/23
So Haegeum means allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden. His whole album is overflowing with his emotions, and not only does he talk to himself in his album, he talks directly to the listener (especially with one particular song, where it almost feels like he breaks the 'fourth wall'. I've experienced it via a movie before, but never by song, until now) there are ARMY translator accounts on Twitter, so if you want to listen to his album on Spotify or Apple music etc, you can have the lyrics pulled up to help you understand what he is expressing 💜
    ScreamCheeese said on 4/21/23
Haegeum also means “to liberate” or “to release” from bans, restraints, or something forbidden. You also really need to see Daechwita!! You’ll understand a lot more of this MV and it’s just as amazing! Just a movie-like. Min Yoongi is a genius for a reason 😩
    Plants healing said on 4/21/23
Haegeum has two meanings. The first is a traditional Korean stringed instrument used in this music "this song's a haegeum", and the second, as the lyrics say, "a new kind of haegeum" means "unlock".
Yoongi uses both haegeum in his lyrics.
    Addison McDorman said on 4/22/23
Haegeum: the English lyrics & the meaning.
Haegeum is a song about unlocking our new potentials, freeing something previously forbidden. The word “Haegeum” has a double meaning. On one side, it’s a traditional Korean string instrument that has a very peculiar sound, but this is not the authentic meaning Agust D/Suga intended originally.
Haegeum” means “allowing/unlocking something that was forbidden.” Here is how he explained it in an interview:
The word “Haegeum” came to me when I was young. I played rhythm games, I loved rhythm action games. When beating a certain stage, you’d unlock a forbidden song, then you could play a new rhythm. It was a “freedom from the forbidden.” Why don’t I try and break free from those things?
This is explicitly confirmed by the English translation of the lyrics in Haegeum:
This song’s simply about freeing what’s forbidden but you must remember to differentiate freedom from self-indulgence
    This song’s a haegeum
    Get on board now
    This lively rhythm
    A new kind of haegeum
    Marissa McWhiter said on 4/22/23
The second meaning of haegeum is the lifting of the ban of something forbidden.
Adding what I think the story is based on things I’ve heard from other reactors...commentaries and what he said in the d-day documentary.
First of all he did say in his intro of the video during the premiere that this video is the second of a trilogy. He said the three videos meant to be seen together is Daechwita, haegeum and amygdala ...which is coming up!
So I believe the king in Daechwita, the first form of august D, was killed by black haired scar face agust D. But then black hair becomes the boss in Haegeum. He seems to be a police detective or officer that is corrupt. He runs his operation from above the Asian noodle restaurant. New Agust d wants to kill him too! Maybe like in Daechwita it’s because of his corruption. So he invades the headquarters and gets his money. On his way out we see a guy making a phone call to the boss...but new agust d gives him a nod. So I think just like in Daechwita new agust d has a deal with this insider to help him kill the boss. So this new guy didn’t really want the money it was just a bait to get him close to the boss. So like in Daechwita, as he was about to be killed he switches the story and kills the Boss instead. Before the boss gets shot we see the boss smirk. I saw a comment that this could be because he knows that this New guy will also meet his fate! So in the end new guy was accepted by the boss’ men and he was delivered to their headquarters the restaurant where he takes over. The final Shot of him eating with the tool he used to kill a man suggests that the violence will sustain him. So now we will wait for amygdala to see how the story ends!
So the song itself was explained by Suga in the documentary. He explains that as idols there are a lot of things they seem to be restricted from doing, acts that are normal for some will become controversies for idols. Like if his smoking at the age of 31 will be seen as wrong then he wants this song to be the start of liberating or lifting some of the restrictions put on them. He also talked about the effect on too much information and how easy to get them also starts to restrict thinking. It’s a very deep song!
The funny thing is...this song has triggered a bit of hate from kpop on social media! Fans of other groups are thinking Yoongi was targeting them...or even saying he shouldn’t be against capitalism since he is from Hybe! Lol totally missing the point of the song...or maybe just proving Yoongi’s observations!
He’s a genius! The rest of the album is genius! I hope you do an album reaction!
Mic mic bungee said on 4/22/23
what's amazing is that in the MV, hanja 解禁 was on the screen which = haegeum, in terms of "to lift a ban" not 奚琴 = haegeum the instrument. WHICH MAKES SO MUCH MORE SENSE because the lyrics talk a lot about judgement, prejudice, and being free from all that. something about it is so raw, and honestly, i feel like it's a big fu to those who try to "cancel" grown idols for doing something normal humans do, like him "smoking" in the MV or just dating, or any issues some fans can't accept. "This song is a haegeum" meaning this song is targeting kpop "fans" who always make a big deal out of things that are not even supposed to be controversial HE'S SO ICONIC FOR THIS.

We have the same interpretation! So if we take the whole story of the trilogy: (1) Amygdala (origin story) - Yoongi (bc pre-debut) creates Agust D (by scarring himself) to deal with trauma while Suga (in green sweater) merely watches on while eating almonds; (2) Daechwita (Joseon era) - King Agust D, who is a tyrant, is killed by Slave Agust D; (3) Haegeum (modern era) - Slave Agust D is now the Detective Agust D but the other character now is Suga (no scar). He is a criminal who kills Detective Agust D which is symbolic of him no longer needing Agust D to deal with trauma (in fact you see the scar of Detective Agust D to be more healed than King Agust D in Daechwita). On the flip side, I think Detective Agust D's smirk before he dies is him kinda saying "Even if you kill me, you won't get rid of me. I am you and you are me." which is just like Suga's other song 'Intro: Shadow'!!! And in fact, you noticed Suga carrying Detective Agust D's jacket after getting off the police car in the restaurant and not jail, showing that he actually became Detective Agust D!

17:13 i think the words you are looking for are "poetic justice" - the hero rose from the people to save them from a mad tyrant only to become one in the process.. and then a hero rose once more to defeat the new mad tyrant. Just like you said, it's a repeating cycle of events..
And I'm sure a lot of people told you this but I will as well: Before watching Amygdala, please re-watch Daechwita and Haegeum once more in the same session and the go on with the last part of the trilogy.

I like your take on the symbolism of this because I had similar thoughts, but with the smirk, I figured it was both theories that you brought up. Like he’s saying, “Oh, you’re gonna kill me now? Go ahead, it won’t change anything.” So he’s both amused and trying to say it’s just a cycle. NOW…for the MV overall, I think you hit it spot on about us all being part of the problem and playing the game. But where my thinking kinda differs is that it isn’t just that we’re playing this game. We’re playing this game as a means to survive. We might not win or beat the system, but at least we’re alive, and sometimes we just have to go along with the system even if we don’t like it, though many don’t have a choice. That’s how I took it anyway, because that’s what I learned during the Occupy Movement. The world is a sh*tty place and it’s no wonder everyone feels so hopeless a lot of the time.

In their first life yoogi represented himself with a tiger Vs the corrupt king. in the new life yoongi became a rebel, a thief, a murdrer...

For fun, I'm going to put my own theory out there. I haven't seen anyone else with it and I'm not an expert on Korean culture so it might be completely whacked, but my thinking is:
Rebel Yoongi goes in with his team and takes out a drug lab in the top floor of the noodle house (not the chem equipment) (0:54) and one guy is calling their boss, who is either (a) a corrupt detective in the PD or (2) a drug lord whose bought off enough folks in the corrupt PD that he can come and go as he wants. Rebel Yoongi takes the money, but he doesn't do it for the money--the money doesn't matter. He tosses it around and finally burns it. But, he lets the guy call Mob Boss Yoongi because what he wants is the MB Yoongi to come find him. The Mob Boss (or corrupt detective) wants to make an example of him and plans to kill him in an ugly way, but Rebel Yoongi takes him out instead. Then gets a ride in the cop car because HE WAS AN undercover cop in a sting operation. Probably whacked but that's what came to mind (sorry, I write novels so it comes naturally).
As a metaphor to being the rebel in a corrupt industry where people who aren't paying off the process and feeding the powers that be have a hard time getting ahead (not just Korea), where being squeaky clean is more important than saying something of meaning or doing something artistic (hence smoking which is a no no for idols). He's not doing it for the money (though in Daechwita he said he'd first wanted money and fame and all that--but realized, when he had it, he had nowhere else to go). Now, he wants to say what he wants to say in a world where media distorts the truth and people are herded into thinking a certain way. Where people who are jealous of BTS and the members' success are shackling themselves by copying much of the same thing they do but trying to shoehorn it into their current methodologies instead of saying their own truths and putting out their own art. Because it's not about being successful as much as it is saying what you've got to say.
    Just my two cents.

I may be completely wrong but I agree that it is a continuation of Daechwita. Low class Yoongi rebels and shoots at his greedy alter ego, the mad King. We think he has killed off the greedy parts of himself but don't see the body. Did he kill the king or merely silence him briefly? In that action he then becomes the powerfull one, not as bad as the king perhaps cos now he is a detective in this video but has become more corrupt or still greedy perhaps. NewSuga wants to kill off that greedy part of himself but I think realises it is just part if who he is so no scar on his eye this time. He kills off the greedy version of himself for good this time? The smirk suggests nor. I think he is saying that each time he tries to stop that part of his character he goes in circles as it is part of him but he has accepted that now and needs it to feed his music and lyrics. I see the chopsticks as his tool in the video first to kill and perform his work to get money and also used to feed himself. I see that as the metaphor that his greed and hate fed his lyrics that made him successful and earn money. He will never remove that part of him as it was the basis for his hunger to succeed with music so accept that part of himself. I see the 6 supporting characters, like you said, as his BTS members who support him in keeping himself down to earth and control his greed.
May be completely wrong, I usually am. Love you reaction. Thank you 💜

Heath Ledger Joker vibes. I can't wait for you to react to Amygdala, and it's the last video of the trilogy. Bring your tissues. I cried the first time, and it puts me in my feelings. I got tickets to see him in Oakland, I'm so excited! I'm going with my daughter, and it will be her first concert with a BTS member. This will be my third in person concert with BTS or a member of BTS. 💜 Haegeum is fire, and you should watch Yoongi's dance practice to this. It's amazing. - ruclips.net/video/0zN2YxoPnD8/видео.html
