Thank you! This was more than a help to me. It proved the difference between being able to buy a rug we stumbled on and wanted, and not being able to buy it because we couldn’t get it home
A very helpful informative video, helped me neatly fold a 2.1m x 3.2m Persian rug and fit it in a suitcase after struggling with this for a whole afternoon! Thank you so much!
i managed to get a 2m x 3m heavy stiff Turkish rug into a regular size suitcase. tried it rolling the pile inside, impossible to fold, then saw your vdo, tried it the other way.. room to spare. I'm taking this home from the middle east so Im gratefll for your tips. excellent vdo
Thanks Dan. REally good instruction. We tried folding our persian carpet 2ce, without success. THen we followed your tutorial and it fits perfectly at 44 lbs into a large suitcase, perfectly. HAllelujah. we can take it back from France to the US in a suitcase rather than a shipping company. Brilliant man!
OMG!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VID!! I've got 3 6x9 rugs that I needed to store and was looking at those tube style bags at $16 apiece. With your method they now fit in lawn garbage bags, ready for storage. Brilliant!
Two things...First, never fold a rug for long-term storage. Always roll the rug. Two, never store a valuable hand-made rug in plastic. Use non-acidic brown paper with duct tape on the seams of the paper (and never get the tape adhesive on the rug). Hand-made rugs need to "breathe".
OMG!!! Thanks a million man!!! You just saved me a lot of money!!! I thought I'd have to rent a van to go pick up the same rug as in this video and drag it by myself not knowing how up the stairs and around corners of the house! Wow! I never would have thought of doing it this way! So simple! and it will fit in any car no sweat in the trunk or even back seat! Thank you so much for sharing this video!!!and Merry Christmas 🎅!and a happy new year!!!
Just got ready to move a rug I lugged up 4 flights of stairs 9 yrs ago. I'd forgotten how old, thick and heavy this 11-3 x 11-8 wool rug is. Or how nice it was. And how 50 isn't the same as 41. Your video was exactly what I was hoping to find. Thanks.
Thank you very much for posting this video! I use your video to email my seller on ebay to show them how to fold and ship their rugs to me when I buy them! Great posting!
Thank you, for the straight forward tutorial. Watched 5 videos, that glossed over everything half assed the work, and used rugs with the depth of a bed sheet as the piece being folded. Your very helpful with your no nonsense guide, without your life story or plugging a bunch of crap that has no point being in a video. You got a like and a subscription for your absolute awesome video. Nice vibrant color of your rug, thing looks beautiful. I inherited a bunch of old persain rugs, what would be the best way to extract the value out of them, without getting taken advantage of from the buyers? Have a few 6x10 or so, and a large 8x12, and a silk prayer size rug.
Thanks for a great tutorial. My parents have a bunch of old rugs from Asia and I need to protect the ones I can. The rest are being used. We just got a wolf hybrid and so it's time to roll them up. I need to vacuum each side - yes. We are stuck in France with a bunch of Asian antiques. I wish I could sell them in Cali.
Amazing video. Thanks so much for the demo! Curious, is it bad for the wool rug to leave it like this for an extended period of time. If so, how long is too long?
Thank you so much for the video. I have a hand made rug and I did fold without facing dow it didn't work. Then I watch this video and it was perfect. Very helpful
If we cleaned the rug and brought it back to you the rug would be rolled, unless the customer requested otherwise. Thank you for the feed back everyone. People are saving hundreds of dollars by lugging their own rug.
The only thing is now the top of the rug is exposed to any elements to stain it. I would think to not turn it upside down. Can you say why turn it upside down?
I'm a 74 year old female......and I did this by myself! AWESOME!

I don't think they should be stored in plastic.

How do you fold an area rug wool 10 x 15 is about one inch of pile? Thank you 😊
I used to fold them in thirds one way, and did an according fold the other way. Not as easy, but I enjoyed the challenge

Thanks Dan.
very nice, and informative!
Thank you for the stating the size...10x13. I have rug I need to ship.
Is it okay to store the rug (for multiple years) folded up or should it be rolled?
I think you need to unroll regularly and check for pests. I put a ton of cloves in mine as a deterrent
Great video..Thank you
That gorgeous rug tells me "get rich"
thank you very much
Very good to know.
The only thing is now the top of the rug is exposed to any elements to stain it. I would think to not turn it upside down. Can you say why turn it upside down?

Nice 👍🏼
thanks man!
You take a great risk of damage by folding it pile out. The pile should always be protected by folding in.
WRONG Paul

Thx
Lo entendería todo si estuviera en ESPAÑOL
On a Persian rug with shoes 🥲
Professional wouldn't be walking on the rug
God forbid anyone should walk on a rug. That's like a landscaper walking on a lawn. How dare them?
Instead of criticizing be thankful for this video he made and by so helped you and many others learn how it can be done!
They are carpets, not rugs.
