I met you at your first ever Worlds Strongest Man. You came over to say a word to your family and I was waiting patiently to ask for a photo. You took off quickly to get back to the athlete tent I believe, I didn’t want to bother you so I didn’t say anything.
I believe it was your sister who asked me if I wanted a photo with you. I said yes but I didn’t want to bother him.
She yelled for you to come back and we got a photo. I still tell people about that. I really appreciate you coming back and taking that time.

In 2021 I was diagnosed with CPTSD from a career in policing. I played drums in a cover band which was a good outlet and focus for me. However I was being pushed out of that band and January of this year I made the decision to leave . It was a toxic situation.
I felt like my joy was stolen from me. It was a hurtful and disappointing time.
I came across your RUclips Chanel which picked me up and inspired me. I am back to strength training and as of late been achieving personal bests. Thank you Mitchell You and the Stoltmans inspire me to be a better version of me.

@@hannibalb8276 As a Thor fanboy (honestly I'm a fanboy of most of the strongmen, Eddie, Stoltmans, Mitch, Licis etc.), I obviously acknowledge that Mitch is currently winning all of the competitions and he's amazing. However, I stand by the fact that Thor is stronger. I think he's the strongest human to have lived so far. SMOE is a decent example, where Thor would've won if it was only him and Hooper. Mitch is phenomenal in his mental game, his strategy, his technical understanding, how to use leverage, how to transfer power, how to get the most out of the rules and so on, and as such he's #1 at nearly every comp. I'm not trying to take anything away from Hooper, he has been winning fair and square. But I, and probably most of the Thor fanboys, still think Thor is the strongest. It's not an opinion I'm married to, I'd fucking love it if Thor gains his overhead power back and generally gets a bit more time to do pure strength training for SMOE 2025 or so, and Hooper can match him/they're both kinda in the same range. Hell if Tom can also really focus up and be a threat for 1st at any comp, ain't nuffin better.
A dream scenario would be Thor, Hooper, Tom, Licis and Trey winning every other comp each, where there's nobody really dominating for 1-2 years, then one of them starts dominating for a while. I think the sport is in shock after Hooper. He came out of nowhere, 8th as WSM, people figured he got a bit lucky. Then he starts winning shows and then won WSM in 1-2 years or whatever. And now he's dominating. He's miles ahead of anyone except Tom and Thor who has to dig deep to potentially beat him. The top ~3-4 guys are so dominant that it's not enough anymore to win 3-4-5 events and win a show. You can't have a weakness, you'll lose too many points. It's better to place 3rd in every event, then win 3-4 event but come 9th in 1-2 events. I think a lot of strongmen have optimized their bodies and their training to do giga deadlifts, giga squats, intense "cardio" for 30 seconds and the stereotypical strongmen lifts or the typical bro lifts in the gym. That has to change now, that is very clear after Hooper's domination.
I think Licis and Hooper are very similar in many ways. They're not the biggest, they don't do world record deadlifts, squats, bro gym lifts. But they know how to peak for comps, and they're masters at technique, leverage, understanding of the human body. Would be great if Licis can get his injuries sorted and get back to compete against Hooper. That would be interesting.
Anyway, sorry for the bible rant. Point was that a lot of the Thor fans just think Thor is stronger overall as a human. I think by this time next year we should be able to say for sure who's the better strongman. If that turns out to be Hooper, I'm happy for him and I'll accept it, and I think most Thor fans will too.

Everything you said was exactly what I was hoping you’d say. What I mean by that is, growing up in Illinois watching Michael Jordan win all the time during the 90’s, you never really think that even after winning 6 championships that people would come out and say that he wasn’t the best to ever do it. However, had he won more which he was capable of accomplishing at the time, really would have left no doubt. In Jordan’s quest, his only motivation was to get one more championship over Magic Johnson and that was it. He never thought to win more than the all time champion Bill Russell to solidify his greatness in history. I think just looking back at that comparison, just on the competition standpoint, you’re young enough and are in a great position to put yourself on a level where when people compare you to the past, there would be no doubt that you’re the best to ever do it. Mix more wins and more world records, health permitting, leave no doubt. I guess as a fan of you, I do wish that when all is said and done, I’d hope that you hang it up like Brian did. Leave while you can still compete, with no major injuries like Ronnie Coleman. I know I ranted a lot, but since you're looking for more motivation, I hope this helps a bit. Always rooting for you Moose. Thank you for contributions to the strong man community!

What now? On a recent Will Tennyson video, I saw that you were able to maintain about your previous marathon pace for nearly 20 minutes while being about 50% heavier; your aerobic engine looks like its gotten a lot bigger, too. Maybe combine your natural talents in both strength and endurance and bring them together to develop the capacity to produce pure, unprecedented power on ergonometric machines. You might be able to crush existing records such as Shaw's 100 meter row, James Hall's (Eddie's brother) 1000 meter row, torch over 100 calories in 60 seconds on an Assault Bike, etc.
