For most people watching this video, it is hard to comprehend the creative process of a master applying his craft to create such powerful image from memory. What it not so evident but tacit about these time-lapse videos is the years of education, experimentation to improve techniques, and most essential, training to observe until all that visual information is internalized and all that knowledge which emerges automatically when creating a piece of work. I taught my son to draw and paint and always advice him that the most important skill of an artist is observation. This video shows not only a very gifted artist but also a keen thinker with a confidence that frees him to focus in creating art from memory.
Best ocean / water tutorials I have seen so far. You break the techniques right down to the bare bones. I feel like I understand so much more now and am excited to finish a couple of paintings I started but have been too 'scared' to finish. Thank you for sharing, you are very generous.
Ive seen so much paintings that Im used to watching people paint, but the fact that ur not using any reference doing this masterpiece and going with the flow is what amazes me the most
Idk, Ryans good and all but I prefer Muraljoe. Ryan paints some incredible paintings but I wouldn't really say he's better. I'm not going to say Muraljoe is better than Ryan either though because I don't think it's right to throw one artist under the bus for the other. Especially when both have different styles. I prefer Muraljoe over Ryan because, to me, his personality is more welcoming and his style is more like my style of art. I'm more drawn to what Mural has to offer compared to Ryan is what Im getting at I guess
Hey Joe, I just wanted to thank you very much, I have just started painting digitally and having never picked up a brush before I learnt so much from yr video, the techniques to use, the brush types you use, and how to blend and of course the finishing details, which scare me the most. Thanks again I look forward to watching many more. Cheers Kev
The most amazing seascape I have ever seen!!! I have painted with acrylics in the past, but I have never seen such amazing skills. And all with acrylics! Wow!
I'm currently trying to paint this, having a little trouble with those waves but I'm getting there. Don't know what the heck I'm gonna do when it comes to the boat but it's a fun and relaxing process. thanks:)
and terrible (in your mind) leads to good, leads to great, leads to sensational. I like to put my work away and come back and look at it and think "oh, that wasn't so bad. Maybe I'll play with it a little more." You have a good attitude in my op.
Lorraine: I absolutely love watching you paint! It's amazing the things that you're saying while you're painting. You have to have really studied the waves to know what needs to be where in order to make the picture look so real and happening. I'm wondering if you've gone to school for this or if you taught yourself? Regardless, God has truly given you an amazing gift! It's a great joy to watch you!!!
Obsessed with ocean waves. Trying to perfect in my paintings of waves. Acrylic latex wall paint? Unbelievable! Fantastic technique and effect! Great tutorial. Bravo!
A most beautiful painting! You blend your commentary with color and brushstroke technique in an amazing and captivating manner. Bravo.. Your pic reminds me of hurricane Peke in the central Pacific in the 90's. My ship was quite battered but we made it to Hawaii. Thanks
that's blown me away. just the number of brush strokes involved is daunting. most people don't realise how much work goes into a piece of art. loved the music too, what is it ?
You should just keep painting the things no one else does. Waves and more waves, I have watched you over and over and I still fail to grasp it all. So awesome! I am learning tho lol thanks
Just magnificent. I enjoyed the BGM of thunder and the rain. It was really great to paint such a scene so realistic without using any reference. Hats off.
I love how you use a large brush for everything. I am intimidated by them. I need to get away from the idea that tight and detailed makes it realistic. You are amazing with yr large brushes and the details that you can achieve with them, mind blown! 🎆🎇👍❤
Remember the size of his canvas. I bet you're not painting as big as he is. it looks like a 1-1/2 inch, maybe 2-inch, he's using for the base waves, which would probably equate to around a 1/2-inch or 3/4-inch if you're painting on an 8x10"
Prisca Nemger I was sick, laid up on the couch, and stumbled across bob Ross.decided to try it,painting.what I learned from him is to not skimp on the brushes.buy the best you can afford.it truly makes a differance.now I'm learning from muraljoe and hope to have a Great Wall in my barn soon. THanks to you muraljoe for teaching your techniques.THANKS so much
Thanks for talking us thru your work, showing us the size of the material you're painting on and 86'ing cheesy, senseless, background, canned music that's ALWAYS a toy piano. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Great work.
With how you explain as you go...makes it so much easier to understand.. I just want to Thank you for sharing your talent w/us... You are truly Blessed....
as an artist myself, first i want to say great job with putting together what you have on RUclips found you today. keep up the good work. I enjoy just having your videos playing as I myself work on my art work.
Can someone tell me the exact colors he used? Dark blue and light blue and is there turquoise? It would be soo great if atleast he shows or gives us a description of the colors that go in there..
I love it when painters do stuff where at first I’m like oh he just ruined it, then a minute later you see it and are just floored. For me it was when he added all the white to the water at first.
Love wave sounds as you paint. I don't use acrylic.. I'm a watercolor artist... watching you makes me want to change medium. Your work is glorious and you obviously have fun.
Please Jesus, give me this kind of talent... so I can paint you walking in the storm to reach your disciples... oh my... this is just mind blowing painting
I'm just getting into sketching now. I don't think of it as practice but as just having fun. That way it's less daunting and you aren't put off by perceived lack of talent.
watching this in 2022 as i'm looking for tips for my own composition. i just need to say, you really have a teaching style that is easy to understand. i can tell you are truly passionate about this and that keeps me interested. plus, your work is beautiful. bravo!
This is my absolute favorite I pause you on every stroke and its horrible. Its a huge mural on the wall.. I enjoyed your live dinosaur last evening, thank you
Bob did do oils for the most part but this guy is more of a true artist than Ross. Ross just had a technic for beginners to learn to paint. His paintings are good and I love the guy but his wet on wet is a very simplified art.
What a powerful painting!! I love, love this!! The inclusion of a prehistoric monster sea creature is genius nd makes the scene even more savage. I so want to try this one for my next painting project. To the 430 people who've downvoted, you have no sense of imagination.
Hey Joe!! I love this painting!!! When I look at it I can hear the waves crashing and see that ship skipping down that wave and everyone on board in terror cause of that shark monster! This is my favorite one of yours so far. I love them all, but this one puts you right in the storm!!
I am going to create my own canvas with this inspirational work of art , wish me luck people ,i know i have the joy and determination to learn and apply what i study ... Good luck and inspiration to us all..lets create more beauty and emotion in this world !

WOW, WOW, WOW! So awesome! I took painting in HS and won ribbons with my paintings, but honestly after that life took my by the shirt and I haven't painted since...THIS IS INSPIRING!! I want to paint something now!
WOW! That is really amazing. You make it look so easy, but I know it can't be as easy as you make it look or everyone would be doing it. I know I want to try. Fantastic! Thanks.
Takes focus and patience and an artistic eye... This is an incredible piece!! BTW you just popped that ship in there like it was nothing to ya.... Holy crap!! You are a ninja lol...
I love how you are teaching all of us like any of us have half the talent you have

Good to know I'm not the only one. I watched from the point of the ship to the end over and over! No Words!!
Off the scale Mr muraljoe!! Spectacular, loved the monster and the boat!!!
I love watching this guy.....He is the best bar none and great how he explains it too. The guy is a genius!
+Chris T Yeah He's a genius.And so are you!

Try Ryan O´rourke , I prefer him over Muraljoe , explains better and has better paintings ( just my opinion )

Good painters really have to know how light works, and you just so seamlessly do it. This really makes me want to paint haha
The prettiest waves ever!!! Great imagination.😊
My new favorite art piece ever
Just magnificent. I enjoyed the BGM of thunder and the rain.
It was really great to paint such a scene so realistic without using any reference.

He's a genius! Amazed to know a fellow human being can do this.
You seem like a nature lover biased a gifted creative character.

Talent is just a pursued interest. - Bob Ross.
Just work at it.
@@chiefterpleaf7467 Practice + Consistency = Talent. It is really as simple as that.
@@Kloppsserialbottlers I... Yeah. We're basically saying the same thing.

Oil paint drys very slowly...so once the bottom layer is completely dry, you can just wipe anything over it with a paper towel
