#1 He works at it harder than anyone else, kind of like Maravich #2 He is REALLY great at his drives and penetrations - and they don't call half the fouls he should get when he gets clobbered on a lay up #3 He has taken advantage of the opportunity that Steve Kerr opened to him, his great shooting father allowed him, and his brother all supporting his earliest struggles #4 NO ONE at draft time took him seriously! Can you believe it! #5 He can shoot from anywhere Oh, I forgot, he can dunk it too :)
Agreed - If Steve Kerr doesn't adopt the philosophy of let guys gun 3s whenever they want when open, we don't get to see the crazy offensive production Curry is so capable of. Changing the system to fit with the players. Plus Kerr himself a 3pt maestro back in the day would of course support this up and coming kid who can drain 3s from waaaaaaaaaaaayyyy out. Right coach with the right player. :D
@@gqdaddy8544-fun to have agreement! Let me replay Maravich: had he been 'unleashed' AND had he had 3 pointers (rather than trying to draw fouls which he did well as he was double-teamed in college) he may have been the go-to Curry-like guy. Maravich's father was also a record-breaking shooter, being a master of the jump shot and not going for the stall and defense kind of game popular in the Fourties and Fifties. Just to prove that I have too much time on my hands, what do you think Wilt might have done with the 3-pointer!
Wilt with a 3pt shot? Hmmm it fundamentally changes Wilt's game and stats... I remember watching a documentary on big men in that it's hard for them to shoot FT's because they are just TOO strong. You get them back further from the hoop and it's easier to shoot - so he definitely would have the strength to toss up alot of 3s per night. Let's say the NBA adopts the 3pt shot in 1960 just for fun. (Sorry ABA of 1976) - It's possible we see an early end to the low-post game as we know it as bigs move out to the 3pt line to guard tall shooters which brings out defenders from beneath the hoop and opens up more scoring. It would be Dirk before Dirk but with a twist. Wilt setting up for 3s means who is rebounding? Maybe he isn't getting +20 RPG anymore and instead is settling for deep bombs... and making them.
@@gqdaddy8544 I mentioned Wilt because wilt led the league in assists and field goal percentage (one year it was over 61%). My guess is that his conceit would have led him to give the 3 point line a run. But this discussion is proof on my side that I live a life simiiar to the idle rich. [Chamberlain led the league in total assists 1967-68, with 702 assists (he did not lead the league in assists per game): he remains the only center to lead the league in assists -career 4,643 total]

Absolutely YES!, people don't recognize him because they thought his ability is just normal. But the truth is no one can even close his ability and greatness.
I saw LeBron team up with Wade. Only 2 rings. Not 7, not 8. Then only 1 with Kyrie. MJ only needed Pippen to win 6. Steph & KD are on their way to 3 together. Still undefeated as a duo.
MJ and Pippen were only able to win 3 rings. It wasn't until Rodman was added that they got the other 3 rings, Rodman led the NBA in rebounding when Chicago won those last 3 championships.

Not because you use (imo)dumb dot spam but because making your own team stronger by recruiting a strong player would never be considered selling oneself short but just being smart and a teamplayer. Reading all those comment from basketball "fans" below yt videos saying Curry or whoever aint good cuz he cant carry his team to a ring on his own. Its just so dumb. There is nothing wrong working to get a good team in a team sport. It even is good in certain ways because that way every player has always to do their best so they wont lose their starting spot and the overall team strenght of all the teams has to improve. Though I have to admit that I dont know whether it would work in bball because you might have a lack of talents to work with cuz its a small sport compared to soccer. I do think though if everyone would stop thinking about something like a team has to have 1 and only 1 player who carries the shit outta his team otherwise hes either bad if he cant or bad cuz he needs help, then the overall quality of basketball might raise. Which would be making the sport more entertaining in the long run. But I think thats impossible due to many reasons like salary cap, the franchise system which kinda says its no probmel if you lose every game you wont have to suffer from dropping out of the league, nah you even get higher spots in the draft if you fail to manage the team smartly. Thats the opinion of an european casual who honestly doesnt know much about the nba rules.
Its not so much Curry's accuracy but his range that has never been seen. He has added three+ feet to the 3 point line and makes it consistently. Amazing!!
Yea u will see those shooting abilities again cause people working on their threes now days trying to be like him but he definitely was the one to start it
We'll definitely see someone surpass the 402 threes he made in 2016. It's only about 5 threes a game, and the league is trending towards exceeding that. But we'll never see 30 ppg on 50-45-90 shooting splits ever again. You can force & pad stats for triple doubles, but you can't force efficiency. Especially "volume efficiency". So far in NBA history, only 2 players come to mind in terms of "volume efficiency". Kevin Durant & Larry Bird. Larry Bird was truly the first truly dynamic efficient volume scorer in NBA history. 29 ppg 52% FG and 41% 3PT in 1988 was simply incredible. Kevin Durant has also had a few 25 ppg+ with 50% FG and 40% 3PT, but he is getting older, and he plays with Curry.
Yes, we are living thru amazing history in the making which will not be repeated any time soon. Maybe never. Who knows.. But as much greater emphasis and interest is now paid to 3-pt shooting, more youngsters will be developing that skill, and perchance we'll be seeing more Curry-like players emerge, if not exactly like Curry
One thing I like about curry being icon and talked about is that, he is the little guy. Well, still taller than most people but in the nba he's the little guy. Good to see that a little guy being lookded up to
Curry's the greatest player now. .. not just a great shooter he's a great passer great ball-handler great team player. He needs to be out of this shooter only category. Shooters are people who just stand there and wait for somebody to pass them the ball. Curry makes impossible shot with all kinds of Defense being thrown at him. He's changed the game.. LeBron has had zero impact on the game he hasn't changed the game in any way.
He is been amazing and its sad he is not in the MVP conversation this year which he should be. My Warriors you got a great team it could be better if that bench can wake up, because if the bench stays numb in the playoffs the Warriors are going to find it difficult to repeat as champs. Portland/OKC/Rockets bench vastly improve and far better than Warriors bench and they are coming. I wish the warriors had sign a player like Faried/Kanter/Markieff to give them some rebounding muscle/size up front.
I am indian we love cricket more than any other sports but steph is the reason i am following nba as well now its been three years now i became a die hard fan of NBA and GSW And of course steph......The goat you call it bandwagon or anything but he is the guy who changed the Game
This is why I view that if there was a mount Rushmore for basketball, I would put Steph on it before Lebron. Lebron may be a better player, but I've always felt being on Rushmore should go to players that changed the way the game was played. Steph changed the way we played the game, Lebron didn't do that, he just played it at a level better than other people did.
Who is a basketball great? imo - Players who fundamentally leave a unique stamp on the game in that it changes how the game is played in that era. Steph fits your mold for sure, the league has adopted this take 3s whenever viable approach in the last 5-7 years and will continue to do so - Curry can cement his legacy with another chip but I think he's already influenced the next generation to "Be Like Steph". LeBron to me is a high basketball IQ guy and talented for sure here's the but - I'd definitely put Tim Duncan ahead of him, also a high IQ but game changing shot blocking, rebounding and defense and the way he instilled loyalty from those he played with. Played the game, 5 time champion, no diva moments. Maybe too Dirk as a 5 who changed being a "center" from being a low post position to camping out on the 3 point line as a legitimate 3pt shooting threat big man.
@BrokeBen #1 - Tremendous upside to Zion - so... maybe. Similar pedigree to LeBron as a High School phenom but in this new NBA he had to get a year of college first -- at Duke - which I think has only helped his game grow. A few years ago people were asking about his shot - as in did he have one? I think he's working on it. 31% 3pt / 65% free throw with Duke. High School he was a 20% 3pt and 61% free throw - pretty impressive going UP a level in play. Everything else defensively in blocking shots and steals looks good and he's a super tough re-bounder. Does any of this translate into elevating his teammates? What kind of stamp can he put on the NBA to make it his own? Only time will tell...
I'm telling you all. If there is no Curry NBA just not so entertaining to watch anymore. This man create so much story in the NBA right now. It is even more exciting how the story will go when league get more deeper in the playoffs.

Steph is really one of a kind NBA player. His charisma and extra ordinary skills is par excellence as compared to other players. Hope he will always remain healthy. God bless him.
His son’s name is Canon, so there’s hope.
Ha true
Maybe Canon's 3s will shatter backboards... here's hoping. :D

Scarlett Eviternety why you so angry bro? We just giving credit where credit is due.. seems like your daddy issues coming out, chill bruh
ɖơɠɛ ɧơųŋɖ why your mans have daddy issues?
Curry changed the game. He made threes the new pull up two. I don’t credit him to the bigs shooting threes, I give that really to Dirk and mostly Chris Bosh, but Curry changed the game undeniably. However, there’s gonna be another one eventually. It will take a while, but the same way kids grew up watching MJ or LeBron and the standard elevated, this standards gonna elevate.
Dirk was far more influential than Chris Bosh... that's not even debatable.
Nebula MJ ain’t never gon be forgotten as long as ppl are wearing Jordan’s(which isn’t slowing down like ppl think is) and wanting to fly from the free throw line. As a kid you can’t learn anything about the game of basketball and never will be able to without understanding and recognizing the greatness of the 🐐
The rules changed bro. You cant touch anyone. So skillsets are promoted rather than physicality... you cannot compare
It's gonna take a long time for J-Dub to be forgotten.
PORTLAND had the DREXLER to the Jordan, and the LILLARD to the Curry.
Literally the next best player at the position in those era's. Lillard was shooting from the logo since day one. Dame and Steph both have changed the game. The DEEP ball cannot just be claimed by Curry. Arenas used to do it to but Dame and Steph have been far more prolific. DAME is the 2nd best PG in the the game. Dame has had like 6 games with 9 or more 3's. All-time stat too.
How about the 90% in freethrows made. The best ever in nba history?
I dunno, but anyone can tell how did Mark Price compare with Curry in this area?
the only person with more is steve nash but curry may eclipse him
acesyoutube He has passed him.
Thank you! been saying it.Most underrated player ever. Must be in G.O.A.T convo. SIXERS in my DNA.
#1 He works at it harder than anyone else, kind of like Maravich
#2 He is REALLY great at his drives and penetrations - and they don't call half the fouls he should get when he gets clobbered on a lay up
#3 He has taken advantage of the opportunity that Steve Kerr opened to him, his great shooting father allowed him, and his brother all supporting his earliest struggles
#4 NO ONE at draft time took him seriously! Can you believe it!
#5 He can shoot from anywhere
Oh, I forgot, he can dunk it too :)
The best shooter the game have ever seen. He to accurate and very confident in his shooting ability. Love to watch him play, my favorite player
The top 3 players who changed the NBA:
Wilt Chamberlain
Michael Jordan
Stephen Curry
I mean, Dirk? AI? Magic? Shaq? Not shitting on the guys you mentioned but these guys were the reason for rule changes as well. I'll take AI at the 4 spot under your list.
What did Michael change in the actual game??? He dunked like so many before him. Oh he's still the greatest don't think I'm a hater. I started watching basketball because of him. But I watched a sports center thing. He actually didn't change the way it was played he was just the best at playing. Now curry has CHANGED the way the game is played
@@bobspizza7444 no dirk Nowitzki changed the game. I mean if Steph Curry changed the way the game is played then why did we learn about him in 2015? Instead of 2008? It was the euro players that changed how the game is played thus had players like curry Harden Lillard step up their game to defeat teams like the Spurs.

Do you even watch basketball. Stein and KD aren’t the only all-stars on Golden State.
MJ and Pippen were only able to win 3 rings. It wasn't until Rodman was added that they got the other 3 rings, Rodman led the NBA in rebounding when Chicago won those last 3 championships.

Steph - 10
Lebron - 16
Number of Trips to the NBA finals and championships won:
Steph - 3 of 4
Lebron - 3 of 9
Steph has played in the tougher western conference for the same team his entire career and still has a higher winning percentage. Lebron had to jump ship to Miami and team up with Wade and Bosh to get his first 2 rings. 'Nuff said.
Steph Curry & the Warriors changed the entire NBA league. He's the leader & the MVP of the team and it's been like that long before the 2015 championship

If Curry Really Thinks Hes The Best Player On The Warriors..Why Would He Sell Himself And The Team To Get Kevin Durant" something like that.
Amazing!!
Curry in spirit is current day MJ. Original, dominating and legendary.
Curry is fun to watch. He pulls up and hits 3s wherever he wants behind the arc. Nuts. Just nuts.

This is just unreal what he does. I'm truly blessed to him play.
A legendary shooter turned coach, Steve Kerr now coaching a player that's kinda Kerr-y
Already a legend no cap!!
Good to see that a little guy being lookded up to
I beg to differ; game is evolving as we speak..
agree. curry is definitely a generational transformative shooter
Curry does it so effortlessly that we under appreciate how difficult it is for everyone else to mimic/defend.
Cause of his size & speed but think about it. If they added more to Zion's game with his size & agility could he out do lebron? Just asking
