  • Hello, Friends! Today I am sharing an update from my most recent doctor appointment... and it didn't go well. We deserve so much better when it comes to care. I know that I am not alone in this experience, which is unfortunate. There is a major disconnect between doctor and patient, especially when you have a chronic, invisible illness.

I'm so glad I found your channel and this video. Thank you for making it!
I am so sorry you were treated that way.
I'm a fellow chronic pain sufferer and I've been there.
Thank you for being so real and vulnerable.

This is such a powerful story, I think that every medical professional in the country should see it. I am so sorry that you had this experience, and unfortunately I don’t think it’s rare. I’ve experienced similar treatment many times, including at “top” hospitals and from “the best” doctors. Clearly, empathy and compassion are not emphasized in medical school. But if you don’t treat your patients with humanity, how can you possibly treat their disease effectively?
On Emgality, I have used it for 4 or 5 months and it is definitely helping. Not 100% symptoms reduction, maybe 50%, but that’s a big deal. No side effects at all. I hope it helps you!

Hi! I came across you on Instagram. I'm having the exact same trouble but with my GP in England. They don't know what to do with me. They've referred me to neurology but because of corona virus and because we have the NHS (🙄) I can't even be seen till March next year. I'm suffering. I don't know how I will cope till that appointment. I feel like I'm just being passed around and being left in limbo. I completely know how you feel. Xx

I am very sorry this happened to you. I will say this....keep shopping for the right doctor. Don't settle. Telemedicine has opened the door for you to get the right provider for you! They can be from far away. Keep looking. You will find the right one. I had an orthopedic doctor toss a box of kleenex at me when I cried from pain during the exam. He was AWFUL. I fired that guy and gave him a bad review. SOOOO many people responded to that review telling me they had a similar experience with him. It was something that I learned from for sure. Hang in there.
