The main differences are that Corona is specifically designed for archviz, which changes how we present the UI and what features we include. V-Ray is a "do everything that anyone could ever need" engine to cover everything up to and including Hollywood VFX, which changes its UI and feature set. In quick terms, the Corona UI and feature set are streamlined for a specific industry. Corona has no GPU support, while V-Ray does. We do hope to add export from Corona to Vantage in the next release (Vantage being GPU based), in case that is relevant to you. Hope this helps! Tom
Hello! We are currently in the midst of the v11 release but then the plan is to finish off Chapter 1 first. There are plenty more videos planned in that scene but then Chapter 2 is the next big thing. Hopefully that helps! Nejc
Not only interiors, chapter 2 will be an exterior for example. There will be at least 1 other interior, and one other exterior, and for other chapters, we're still waiting to get closer to the time to decide what scene would showcase the features we have left to show. Thanks! Tom
There will be exactly the same content for Cinema 4D as for Max. The two produce identical results (just with different set ups maybe, depending on the features of the DCC, e.g. procedural noise is different between Max and C4D). Thanks! Tom
This scene is the one we have planned for Chapter 2, so we will in fact be taking a look at how to set it up to get this kind of a render :) Of course we have to complete Chapter 1 first, where we start with an interior scene, but just so you know that we do plan on exploring this scene in an upcoming chapter of the Academy! Thanks, Tom
This is a great idea, but the execution needs to change. When the course doesn't include the assets for the scene, it's pretty much impossible to properly follow along. Those who are new want to be able to actually learn how to get the same result. "we didn't include the assets you see out of respect for the original artists" - that would be fine if you guys weren't the same people who make Cosmos? Why not pull assets from there to show that it's a viable option? Wouldn't even be so bad if the base, empty room download was the same. But instead it has none of the windows, doors or moldings - it's just a box. Really hoped that this would be a useful display of Chaos' support for users to properly learn, but even as a new user it felt like most of it was overexplained, while not actually being helpful to follow along
Thank you for the feedback! This is already accounted for when going ahead into the next chapters, where we will have taken the time to build everything from scratch so that it can be distributed along with that chapter. On overexplained, everyone learns at a different pace, and going slower is best as then viewers can speed up the video or skip ahead as necessary (if we go too fast for someone else, there is no way for them to slow it down). That said, the pace will pick up the deeper into the Academy as we go, as we'll know what experience you'll have had with Corona having gone through the course up to that point. Hope this helps! Tom
It takes an enormous amount of work to port something to GPU, and even then nothing will be 100% the same and come with some compromises; it was long ago decided this was not something that Corona was going to do - "Proudly CPU based" has been our motto since at least 2016 :) And as noted, there are GPU options through V-Ray, Vantage, Enscape etc. if that a GPU solution is preferred. Thanks! Tom
@@guloofficial4740 If you mean Vantage, you may want to have a look at corona-renderer.com/features/in-development now that Corona 11 is out :) Thanks! Tom
This is amazing!!! Thank you very much Corona Team.
Amazing job!!! And of course we're gonna need some exterior scenes ❤😊
Oh, definitely - that will be Chapter 2, and the scene used here in the thumbnail is the one we plan to be working on. Thanks for the kind words! Tom
very nice idea
Lets goooooooo 🎉
Wooow I’m in 100%
Is this for C4D users too?
Yes, it's for both Cinema 4D and 3ds Max users.
Are the Archviz Masterclass videos available anywhere?
Do you mean the Common Point videos? You'd need to check in with them, as those are not created by Chaos / the Corona team. Hope this helps! Tom
Excellent.
What is the difference between Corona and V-Ray? Since they are both from the same company? Can GPU be used in Corona? Thank you

Hi, thanks for the great effort, When chapter 2 will be available?

Only interiors? Any product/studio rendering?
Not only interiors, chapter 2 will be an exterior for example. There will be at least 1 other interior, and one other exterior, and for other chapters, we're still waiting to get closer to the time to decide what scene would showcase the features we have left to show. Thanks! Tom
Me too, I second that, and I also recommend that Corona powers include all fields of production, not only ArchViz. Thank you.
I had always the feeling, that Corona for cinema 4d doesnt make such good results like corona for 3DS-max. Will there be much content for cinema 4D?
There will be exactly the same content for Cinema 4D as for Max. The two produce identical results (just with different set ups maybe, depending on the features of the DCC, e.g. procedural noise is different between Max and C4D). Thanks! Tom

Is there provision for subtitles in other languages (Brazilian Portuguese)?
This is a great idea. I'll see what we can do about this.

Hi, why corona doesnt have the GPU base rendering while vray have?
