My dear Helsinki. That day was Yuzuru’s favorite day and mine too.

I always watch your fancam of the event but never realised you have the OP too. Only now I know he had the 3ALo3S after the InaBauer in OP but 3Lutz in the competition. Wonder if he planned for the 3ALo3S but changed later on as it proved too much towards the end of the program.

Hope you enjoyed the fancam! Yuzu's planned layout is to end off with the 3Lz (which he did in competition where he skated cleanly). For this OP, as he popped his 2nd planned 4S (2:40), he attempted another 4T (3:37, intended to be 4T-Lo-3S), instead of the planned 3A-Lo-3S. Because he popped the 4T into a 2T (and didn't manage to do the 4T in combination), he went for the 3A-Lo-3S at the end instead of the 3Lz, to maximise his BV. Yuzu always thinks on his feet to maximise his BV - you can see that he often changes his jump layout in his programs, at both competitions and at OPs!

@@alchemlst92 Thanks for the explanation. I didn't realise he'd change the program layout even in the OP. Sometimes he didn't do a full run of the program and I don't quite get whether he popped or decided to skip 😀
