    I have a friend who's a state trooper and on his (2011 I think it was) Caprice he's got a Valor. He raves about it all the time especially the takedowns. It's also amazingly bright at night. Probably the most practical lightbar on the market today.

    • @znovosad555
      @znovosad555 8 лет назад +1

      Xtermn8 TCH debatable. Soundoff signals nforce light bar would compete against the valor easily. Whelen makes nice light bars but not with the same versatility and options.

    • @xtermn8201
      @xtermn8201 8 лет назад

      I personally hate the shape of the nforce. Granted it too has an all white flood, but it has many fewer modules, and if you're going for all-the-same-brand setup, SoundOff isn't very good for that. That's mere opinion though since well I hate the sirens that come out of SoundOff. The SoundOff ghost I do like though.

    • @znovosad555
      @znovosad555 8 лет назад

      Xtermn8 TCH yeah I'm not a huge fan of soundoffs or feniex's sirens. Sirens I'd go whelen all day. I don't see less modules really being a problem. The valor just had smaller heads so they can fit more into one space. I've always thought the slight curves of the nforce bar were a little weird but I like the bar a lot. Gotten to play with some demo ones before

    • @xtermn8201
      @xtermn8201 8 лет назад

      Well the once place that we can both agree is that the nforce is much cheaper than the Valor and if you're a low-budget department you should go for the nforce. The Valor is like $5,000 or something.

    • @znovosad555
      @znovosad555 8 лет назад

      Xtermn8 TCH yeah for sure. If I had a use for a full size light bar is probably get the nforce. We're a blue light light state so only courtesy lights allowed. And I don't plan on going up to a chief officer position

    Can the red & blue also change with each other? Some agencies use blue on the driver's side [such as Maryland] and NY cops seem to like using all red in the front with both red AND blue in the back.

    • @SIRENNET
      @SIRENNET  6 лет назад +1

      With normal feet, lowest height from the roof to the bottom fins is 1.5". It can go as high as 3" from the roof. The Valor itself, bar without feet, is 1.75" tall. Lowest total height- 4.25". Highest with the feet raised is 5.75".

      The Valor is a modernized take on Federal Signal's "Vector" Light Bar. The Vector series started the unique "V" shape and was assembled using halogen rotating pods. Options included a rear halogen Signal Master and some even had a front mount strobe emitter. There was also a Mini version with 3-pods. It was a really cool platform.

    Some of these patterns are too crazy... From a distance, the mix of red, blue and white will just be a muddy mess. I think the best compromise is to have a strobing half-half since the strobing gets attention, but is also better visible from a distance.

      LIPD Productions Inc. slower, non strobing patterns catch attention better as well. Random pattern can even just be a cycle mode so it goes through all the patterns. Keeps it changed up so its more likely to be noticed

    • @relytlirpa
      @relytlirpa 8 лет назад +1

      Fast flashing patterns are better for responding as it gets attention better. Also better for Cities. Slow patterns are better for on scene work to prevent other drivers from being blinded while still giving them the appropriate amount of warning. Slow patterns are also better for the highways where it allows people to easily see the vehicle from a far distance.

    • @znovosad555
      @znovosad555 8 лет назад +1

      TYJ484 exactly my point. The strobing patterns get you attention to pull over. When you see them on the side of the road it's very distracting. Unless it's a single light like an led beacon with a simple strobe pattern. That's different

    • @relytlirpa
      @relytlirpa 8 лет назад

      Indeed

    • @znovosad555
      @znovosad555 5 лет назад

      @Magnus Fullauto it's called the moth effect and theres a lot of studies on it. This is why with all the smart control systems like cantrol, and blueprint, you're seeing slower patterns that alternate the whole light bar, or alternate grille lights back and forth. And they're synced. The faster flash patterns are starting to get phased out and are less effective now. Even when responding. Easier said than done to just say not to look at it. Slower synced patterns are 10x more effective and create less stress typically associated with other motorists reacting to emergency or warning lights.
