Please use these brushes as a guide for what I intend to use. These are brushes I use a lot. Therefore, having the exact brand of brushes I use is unnecessary. My brands are D'Artigny, Textura, Isacrylic by Isabey, Raphael brush, Simply Simmons Extra Firm, Princeton Catalyst, Velvet touch and Select - When a brush is called a Hog Brush, it uses natural Hog Bristles.

I am so glad I came across this video before August. I did do 8 paintings from acrylic April last year. A month later my 44 year old daughter was diagnosed with rare lung cancer with absolutely no risk factors. She passed away on April 30 th. Sorry to tell you about my grief, I have been thinking of starting painting again. This seems like a perfect opportunity. Thanks to Art Sherpa. Hope this will help emotionally

I started these when my husband was diagnosed with cancer. It was a place I could rest my brain. That first year I only did a few but I’m okay not doing them all. In 2021 I did them all! I very much appreciate the time and effort it takes you and Jon to do these. Your tutorials are clear and easy to understand. Thank you and I’m looking forward to getting started.

Oh! Thank you! I forgot about this! I'm living in a disorganized MIL suite and have been feeling oh so blah. I have tons of art supplies but no dedicated space to paint. I watched this yesterday morning and spent the entire day reorangizing and clearing clutter. I made my space and am ready to paint again. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜♥

AA 2020 changed my life. Now I look forward to the daily challenge each year with joy and anticipation. My health issues make April an especially challenging time of year to do daily painting, so I am excited that this year will be August. Cheering for us all to have a wonderful time growing and sharing!

I’ve been here for a number of year and am excited to hop on the Sherpa Acrylic August this year! Always a good creative chat and tips. Daily painting is extremely helpful as your brain will gain strength just as an athlete strengthens his/her body by daily workouts!

Hi Cinnamon! I am so happy you are better! I hurt my knee January 1 and was not able to have surgery until May 16. The recovery and mental health of the journey and not being able to walk or do the things I love doing was definitely a mental health struggle. I am a little behind because I forgot we moved this year to August! I am still unable to walk fully without crutches. But definitely healing slowly. This is going to be so helpful. I am just completely thankful for you and John and want to say thank you so much for all you do for us. I am so glad you are healing and welcome back! ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t wait to get started. This will be my third challenge with you. I did 21,23and now 24. It was in 21 when I first picked up a brush with paint. You and your mom inspired me. Now I paint with other artist on line. I will always come back to do your challenges when I can. Love you. You are truly my inspiration. I hope to meet you someday at one of your work shops. A5 canvas pad, cut square then tape down, you get a lovely white edge and if there are any you love they are easy to frame, I store them in a display book with plastic pockets

It’s hard when you go through mental problems, I haven’t had it as bad as you, but I have weeks or months that I will go into the studio and can’t pick up a brush, I will draw the subject, prepare everything, sit down and then I will leave it. I doubt my abilities, yet I know I can do it, even once I painted it I will not like it, but weeks later looking at them I think ‘yes I painted that well, I like it”

On a personal note, thank you for sharing your experience and struggles. My son went through something similar. Even though I watched your video, I didn’t realize how much he was “struggling” like you. Looking back, as his Mom, I should have shared your video. It might have opened up a conversation. I've been following along on the FB page. I am waiting until October to do the entire challenge because I'm traveling off and on until then. I did have to cheat and do the elephant because it's just so stinkin' cute! But what I really came here to say is that you look great, Cinnamon! AND I'm super psyched that we have officially been given the word that donuts are ok for getting through Acrylic August! What else could we ask for?!

Hi Cinnamon, thanks for answering my other message to you a few days ago! Need some advice! Trying to put together Paint Alongs for extra income & something easy to do, & it requires some initial investment. Need budget friendly advice for brushes. Thinking maybe two flats, two rounds, and a liner brush for each person. Sets have too many sizes. Will keep canvas to about 11 x 14-ish. Should I get tube paints, or liquid acrylic, or craft paints? Do I need table easels or can we use a rolled towel or tube to prop the little canvases on?
Would probably need this for maybe 12 to 15 people. Thanks. Lesley from Boynton Beach, Florida 😊

Which Dormans wax do you recommend? I see one for oils and one for watercolor but none that say acrylics.

Due to a rare blood condition that I have I am highly sensitive to cadmium in a very dangerous way. Could you please provide substitutes for these cadmium colors so that I'm not then putting my health at risk in order to participate in this challenge?

Hi my son just just recently tried to commit suicide. He was in hospital for a couple weeks and now getting help and treatment for his mental health is a slow process but he’s getting there. I’ve never seen someone have to take so many pills medication. I am his mum, and I was truly emotionally upset breakdown..

JUST CHECKED GOOGLE and Dorlands wax is ...NOT RECOMENDED .... for over acrylics as it may degrade and cause to crack and flake off
I will contact Orland and GAC and check that out further thank you for sharing what you found
