    Cute idea for the dresser. I pondered over my Cricut purchase between Explorer 2 or Cricut Maker. Wishing now I would have spent the extra for the Maker.

    Lovely work! I’m so curious to know if you were able to sell this as quickly and for as much as you would if you had done a plain solid color? Since you said that normally the stenciled-type style doesn’t sell well in your area?

    How does the Varathane water-based polyurethane compare to Polycrylic? I tried applying Polycrylic so many different ways on a refinished desk that I painted white but streaks or air bubbles would always appear. I've tried a foam brush, synthetic brush, foam brush with a nylon sock, applied with light pressure, etc but the finish is still awful with air bubbles. Is the Varathane a better option?

    Very cute! I've seen many people use the cricket machine for so many things and they all came out beautifully. Good luck with your ideas for this machine! Could you have placed the stencil back on the original backing that it had when it came out of the machine? I am wondering about the storage issue. Also, did you wash the stencil and if so, how did that go? Thanks so much.

    Help! I tried mixing Krylon antiquing wax and Valspar limewash glaze for a lighter finish. I love the color however as I brushed with the deck brush it started to pull off all my staining color..not the base color? Do you know why? This is my first attempt. Thanks for any advise.

    • @blacksheephouse
      @blacksheephouse  2 года назад

      ❤️ If that wasn’t a typo what you wrote that you mixed wax and glaze together I would guess that’s the issue. I’ve never tried to mix wax into anything before. (While wet) I only mix things together that are water based based with water based or… oil with oil based products. But being a creative comes with taking risks and trying weird stuff just to see ❤️ No matter what happens during the creative process You can always wait till it dries/cures, sand away what’s left and start again though. If you want a lighter look you can mix paint and glaze or mix paint and clear coat to make your own glaze, I’ve been successful with that recipe a lot

    Just wanted to say that I love your work. But I do have a question when using the high density foam roller do you get the orange peel effect? I've tried it a couple of times but I seem to get that effect. Do you have any suggestions .

    • @blacksheephouse
      @blacksheephouse  2 года назад +1

      Hey Robin, I’m glad you’re here ❤️ I get the least amount of texture when I use valspar furniture and cabinet enamel or General finishes milk paint. I also get a pretty smooth finish with my one step paint recipe (leave out the chalk powder for a smoother finish)
      And make sure you keep an extra roller near by for when the first one gets too saturated with paint. The goal is to brush on a light coat and then even it out and remove excess paint with the roller. This black dresser video is a good one to watch be for that technique and the valspar furniture enamel
