best thing you can do at this point is pull the engine and break it down. You may get lucky and get away with just honing the cylinder walls, they do not need to be perfect as 2 strokes are a little more forgiving. The rings are probably seized in the piston groves if this is the case let them soak in evaporust gently tapping them until they break free then remove them and clean the rings and groves until they are smooth. i believe these have needle bearings on the crank and rods so I would start looking for them now because if they are pitted they will fail really fast with really bad results. the corrosion you see on the exhaust is pretty typical of marine engines and as long as nothing feels too thinned out by the corrosion it will be fine.

it would be way easier to uncouple the motor and disassemble on a table. my guess is a dingleberry hone, new bearings and seals. save the effort of rebuilding these carbs and just get some cheap ones online. fuel filter and pump. distributor will need contacts cleaned of replaced. IMO its a really cool simple motor that you can learn a lot from if you take it all apart and rebuild.
if i were you i would pulled engine out and put head back on block and filled up with diesel fluid and let it sit for 4 or 6 day and come back and try turning it surely enough it will come loose without fight at all i have done this so many time on every engine in boat doesnt matter vehicle or boat but still it one easily thing save your engine block from being destory by other

And thanks for this encouragement!
Awesome vid brother!
Thanks Shawn! Appreciate your continued support!
I also have a 1979 wet bike. Same James bond decal look also. I never got it running. I'd be willing to sell it. Good for parts.
Does the engine spin? Where you at?
@@BarelyBuiltRight I got in a barn in Tennessee. haven't touched it in years. So I don't know about the condition of the engine.
Right on! Might hit you up if I find myself in need. Thanks for stopping by the channel!
@@BarelyBuiltRight sure no problem. I got too many other projects that are not getting attention enough so the wet bike will remain water shy.
