Whenever I brew a large batch of coffee, I would probably go with the multiple brewer solution since I already have em hanging around :D How would you brew a large batch of coffee for 10 people?!
Probably multiple batches on my Moccamaster. Or I would do a cupping style brew with a large pot on the stove, then after breaking the crust, and cleaning up the foam and floaties, I would let the grinds settle and pour gently into a decanter, or if needed a strainer with cheese cloth.
The Moccamaster for sure would hit many people's quantity needs. I actually love the cupping style + filter combo! It really is underrated and can brew a lot, requires minimal equipment and is delicious for very little effort!
Haven't done it in a while, but for large batch I make a concentrate using a similar immersion method as cold brew. But instead I grind a whole bag to basically powder (using a 25k rpm spice mill) and steep with 70°C water at a 1:3 coffee to water ratio for 30-45 minutes. I then filter using muslin cloth and end up with almost a wine bottle's worth of concentrate that can be diluted anywhere from 1:3 and1:5 concentrate to water. It's probably off the charts in terms of effort level 🤣, but it makes a versatile brew. You can drink it cold, hot, or have it on hand to make things like coffee jelly, etc. and lasts at least a week.
Sounds like you have your method downpacked haha. I don't think I've ever seen a recipe like that but it really goes to show how versatile and unique a brewing recipe can be as long as you understand coffee extraction 👍👍
Hello David, thanks for sharing. I am a business owner that is trying to get the most out of the good coffee we buy. Even thou I Iove cold brew it is very time consuming and yields very little coffee. I will try your ratios the see if i can dilute it in water.
Nice rundown and timely for me as I've got coffee-drinking guests coming. I have an 8-cup Moccamaster so I should be good. By the way, my wife likes cold brew but she heats it up to drink warm, another option, ha.
Ohhh the Moccamaster, that's something I have thought about getting down the road, what have your thoughts been on it?! Never tried heating up cold brew, will have to give that a whirl!
@@brewinghabits Highly recommend the Moccamaster, it brews a great cup of coffee every time. I use it about once a week for bigger batches, pour-over the rest of the week. I haven't tried heating cold brew either but my wife loves it. To each, his/her own...
never brew for that many 10 people, but the last i made 330ml in once manual brew for 3 people which is my friends. LOL. I don't think i am gonna be ready. anyway, thanks for every useful video.
Hey guys wanna ask if you guys have any suggestions on best way to brew Vietnamese coffee in big batch let say 3L of coffee each time? Thanks in advance 😊

Multiple brewers is not “a large batch”, that’s multiple smaller batches.

Haha well a secret technique when brewing with friends is to... use them as additional manpower! :D
