Hey Luke, Handy cooking tip for baking whole fish..... Wrap it in baking paper then foil. Prevents it sticking and presents so much better.... Great fish by the way
Hot tip for when bleeding your fish brother, before you cut the gills brain spike the fish. Best way to do it and much better on the mental. Great vid as always ❤
Nice one catching the 2 Jacks on a hand line. When you wake up tomorrow, BARRA Season!! WOOOOW. Can't wait to see you bag and eat some large Barra this season Luke.
Luke you are producing some quality content man, I absolutely love seeing when you have uploaded a new video. I recently moved up North myself and you have been a key player in motivating me to startup my own RUclips adventures.
That would have to be one of the best vids yet. When you hooked that Jack and went in reverse I’m yelling “ nooooo” Then you hook the next one and jump up on your seat squealing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you’ll get those muddies soon bud. The cooking of the Jack looked absolutely amazing. Oh yeah the stupidest thing I do in my boat is I always find the sand banks while motoring along and beach myself😂😂😂

Hey bro, ex-Geelong boy here. I moved to Cape Trib north of Cairns when I was about 23 and lived there for about 15 years. I live in Northern NSW now but here's a Jack story for ya.....I caught one offshore that went 15kg whole and 12.7 kg cleaned. almost a metre long, 95cm actually. Current Aussie record, pic in my insta. Good work on the hand line jack. Keep it up bro

Bro your having small wins , be happy mate , your in cairns fishing when you want , enjoy the now ,over time it all adds up , I nearly threw my I-pad when you touched the engine “Malaka “ but you gotta laugh its life bro . Loved it
Hey dude cairns gets crabbed hard. My advice is to soak them over night. Use chicken frames for bait and if it’s been raining put your pots In deeper hole’s throughout the creek system or out on the flats opposite the pier where their will be more salty water. Bigger tides go well also
I’ve always put the pots in deeper holes or right down near the mouth after heavy rain. Fresh water floats on salt water so they go deeper to avoid the fresh
Love the vibe you give off brother. Im a local melbournian from the western suburbs mate. Loving your vids, keep it up. Wishing you all the crabs in the world. even the ones that aren't in the water ;) hahaha
Hey mate, great video. With muddies they don't like the fresh water so much. If there has been a heap of rain, the fresh water pushes them down closer to the salt water near the mouth. Keep up the hard work mate. Love watching you get out and about. 👍🍻
@@lukefalzon haven't been out lately mate, just sold the boat and looking at an upgrade. Lived in the NW of WA for a while and chased a few crabs up that way
Hey mate, love ya videos. I’m local to the area and when I was runnings pots I found reef species for bait didn’t have much luck, my best bait I used were catfish. Got a buck every time although sometimes they were empty. I also found running pots daily was better, I’d run my pots, and then trawl for a while, pull up in the inlet somewhere breezy and watch some Netflix or RUclips to kill some time if the fishing was slow, then run back and check the pots systematically, only time I lost pots was when I left them over night. Also taking someone who doesn’t eat crabs might help so you can double the amount of pots. I’m allergic unfortunately and use to just give the crabs I caught to family and friends. Cheers mate look forward to your next video 👌

Hey Luke I don’t really go crabbing because I live near rivers but I would say try putting the pots closer to the edge because that’s what we go with yabbies if people say don’t follow them but I’m saying try and it might work
ok luke here is the gamble your doing everything right but your just now winning the loto. you have two choices, one put the pots in the creek your in I'm suspecting fire wood or the one on the island in the middle of the inlet and get nothing at all orrr you could find a honny hole full of bucks and gennes. second option is put the pots at the front of hills creek on the side closest to the ocean about 500m near the trees that aren't mangrove and have a big base . you can catch lots of mudcrabs there I've bought monster bucks and some smaller ones and you can also catch blue swimmers ass well, buuuut the down side to this is its likely to get croced (a croc trashing your pot).also bait I recommend is ether tuna or mahi mahi or some oily fish from the little fish shop (blue one with white stripes) they sell carb pot bait for 3 bucks a bag. hope this helps you catch one, but its not my fault or responsibility if you lose a pot. also put the pot in in the late arvo then pick up early morning so none cheks you pot.
if your ever in a bit bigger creek the muddies love the little drains feeding into them because its like a little highway straight from their holes to the creek but you gotta be mindful cause people like cast netting their cause the bait hangs around them too
Mate I’m in Queensland and while it has been raining heavily you actually want to put your pots out the mouth of the river mud crabs hate the fresh water so they move to the mouth of the creek to find the salt
Hey Luke, my suggestions for crabbing is to use chicken frames. The bait you were using should work but maybe it just doesn’t suit the spot. Try chicken frames never gone wrong with them
