A super battery will only show up if the player has one life and only one remains. It increase the light range and does extra damage. (Also revives other plates faster)
I'm not sure if you've already recorded all of the games, but if you just hit "Continue Playing" after every game, then you can just pass the Gamepad to someone else without having to re-select your Miis every game

When playing at the ghost when you hold on VL NVR in fully charged you can turn off every ghost tracker's flashlights

There's actually a charge attack the ghost can use to stop camping. I think it shorts out the flashlights.
