Awesome scenery, especially, Mt. Fiji...😀👍. Both did great job...🚴♂️🚴♀️. Thanks for sharing. Definitely liked the old process of the group b/w pic on the old camera...📷😀👍.
As I've mentioned before, your wife is a very strong rider and I hope she knows she's well above average. Love the beautiful scenery on this ride and having lived in japan a couple of years in the 60's really loved the traditional home architecture.
another great video of Cruise and Thuong , a good antidote to stock markets and politics on youtube . I come here to get my peace of mind . Thanks Cruise !
I enjoy all your videos, but this was a nice shake-up! I've always wanted to visit Japan and seeing you explore the more natural, less-crowded things to do is awesome!
As a cyclist who also loves Japan, your channel takes me to my happy place. Thanks for posting a great ride. BTW it's 40 degrees and grey in Michigan atm.
I loved the video. I think this is one of my favs on your channel. It has many of the things that I like when riding my mtb: gravel roads, nice open views, climbing, mountains all around and blue skies (I wish I could find yummy food but that's impossible in the backcountry) ....I also like architecture/history so I enjoyed seeing the lodge house and the old camera. Is Autumn always that nice in Japan? It looks warm...
Thanks! :) Agreed, this was one of our favorite days too. It wasn't a crazy long distance or anything, but it was a fun ride, with great views, weather, company and food. And yes, Autumn is usually pretty late here compared to western countries, and a bit warmer until about next month
Wow-what an awesome adventure, ride, and video. The scenery was amazing. Thuong chan did a superb job! My favorite food when we lived in Japan was unagi (expensive), and that really looked delicious. Thank you for sharing the journey with us.
I love unagi too, but barely eat it since it is pretty pricey. It was a really nice surprise for lunch, and probably the biggest helping of and best testing unagi I've ever had.
I think other riders sometimes tend to chill out a little more on gravel compared to the streets, so maybe that's why she likes it better. Sometimes I like it when we hit the gravel so I can relax a bit.
Thanks Frank :) I don't think Thuong trusts me anymore when it comes to elevation details... She did really great, especially since it was her first time riding with a fast group.
Great video you guys and 'big up' Thuong-chan as the saying goes for riding so well, on that steep rough climb after the horse ranch break she was riding it like a boss, tell her. Glad you escaped the typhoon, its had media coverage here in England.
Thanks Baz! I was super proud to see her giving her all on that climb, and making it up most of the way :) We've been getting lucky with avoiding the full force of typhoons in Nagoya this year.. Hopefully the expected big earthquake doesn't come anytime soon..
Tenryu is actually part of Hamamatsu now, it got absorbed into Hamamatsu back in 2005. Really nice place to ride around the lake, it's my favourite place in Hamamatsu to ride.
@@TwoWheelCruise yeah before 2005 Tenryu was it's own city. Dwindling population caused it to get joined as part of Hamamatsu. There's two lakes in Hamamatsu that are good. Hamanako, but a nice short ride is the lake in Tenryu.
Thank you for your inspiring videos! You lotivated me to take my bike to commute from one Campus in Machida to the one in Tokyo - 25km one way. I feel great, despite the rain😁
I see you guys stopped at the river. I usually ride o the river banks close to where I live and the rocks are about baseball size so you have to be careful But it's still fun
I'm kind of surprised these road side stops in the middle of nowhere offer such refined good food and amenities. A road side stop in Canada only offers chain fast food or a chocolate bar from a gas station. BTW, those local snacks look like processed snacks from a box.
Thuong is a gravel monster, with some more exercise she can do the tour of flanders . The routes are beautifull and seem a lot of fun. The food looks like manga. Trip must have been a lot of fun and that is what biking is all about
Great vid cruise. That's my kind of ride.😁 must say I love the dual suspension on my Scott spark for that stuff , enjoy doing on the road too. Hope you didn't punish Thuong chan too much, she's a champ , beutifull area too. Hope to see more of off road rides when you buy a mountain bike for Thuong. LOL.👍👍😁😎🦘
Thanks Mark! Would've loved to have done it on the new URS, but they're not in yet unfortunately. The downhills where a bit rough, but not too bad. I'm sure Thuong was happy to be on the MTB at times :)
This bike with CX tires ruclips.net/video/NTVwiURn8Hg/видео.html It's really fast, but a bit stiff on the really rough gravel stuff. Definitely would want to go with a more dedicated gravel bike which has more tire clearance for the rough gravel roads ruclips.net/video/JN_dlDMM1G0/видео.html
Great video. Can you teach Thuong to stand up on the pedals when it is steep? Your legs can get some rest by changing the position from pedaling on the saddle... Normally you need to change to a larger gear first. It is easier and you can put down power in a different way.
Awesome ride for you two! But I have to say you were lucky the trails were not muddy cause that tire you put on your bike I guess had less then 3ml of clearance, so just a pebble it might had picked up would have meant possible paint scratching!
Great video as always! Keep it up! Quick question if I may, I just bought Canyon endurace al 7.0 and I have never used clip-in pedals. I do commuting most of the time, can you recommend to me the best pedals and shoes? I'm a noob and on a budget. forgive me for my English, I'm not a native speaker.
My first time climbing up verry steep mountain idk maybe 18% gradient 25km long without any boost (small downhill). And when we finally get to the top of the mountain... There's no food/drink vendor
So cool im.lucky to buy 1 bike $150 a Walmart I work for met par They make a bathroom stall walls are you seeing most restaurants in Walmarts and Costco's in new States when the order comes in we collect it off the shelves and then we put it into a box tape it up banded up and put it on a UPS truck to be sent out to the customer
I just never get the whole gravel bike thing bent over on a gravel bike where as on a mountain bike upright sturdy and way better control people just look so uncomfortable on them gravel bikes
Hi What was the brown food Thuong was eating ?.For a guy who works in the cycles industry your technical skills are still lacking ? you need to work watching a mechanic.
Unagi (eel) I do more management stuff, I only really get to touch the bikes when I swap out pedals and change seat heights at demo days 😅 Doesn't help my mechanic skills any unfortunately
Gravel riding is another american thing exported and adopted blindly by the rest of the world. Gravel riding doesnt make sense outside USA. There are just not gravel roads!!!!!!!!!!!

Thuong: "I'm dying..."

She did really good considering there were some fast people in this ride 🙂 that must've been an interesting time to be in Japan
Toung is rocking this ride. She is a trooper
Thuong has a great attitude , of never giving up , I also admire her riding with a lot of blokes , Yes , she's up with the best !
This was a tough day for her, but she pushed through :)
another great video of Cruise and Thuong , a good antidote to stock markets and politics on youtube . I come here to get my peace of mind . Thanks Cruise !
That stuff is toxic, though it's most of what I watch on YT nowadays myself 😂

I had an awesome time bike riding around Dalat.
Hope to go there next year!
Wow! Looks like a great ride! I love mountain biking and those kinds of rides, so much fun!

Considering the weight of the mountain bike, its wider tires and the terrain, Thuong chan is a monster.
She was definitely at a disadvantage, but still crushed it
OMG that roadmachine!!! My heart just reached VO2 max for 27 minutes!!
🤣😎
I really enjoyed the intro on this one hope it becomes a norm :).
Thanks! I usually try to include them on these longer ride videos, but maybe I should start doing them on more videos?
We just rode through Shizuoka ourselves more towards the eastern side closer to Shimizu and Fuji! Beautiful until typhoon Hagibis crashed the party!

That looked like a fun day out, I like the bikes, thanks for sharing with us.
Golden wall is called a Byoubu. :) 24:00
Okay, you've successfully promoted that place to me. Now the problem is, I'll need a light gravel bike that I could take on the plane there!
rentals ;)
there is always something different about riding your own bike, y'know ;)
Wish I was there riding with you guys... yet I am in the east coast of US and it is Feb now
I wish we had these conditions now too 😅
