    I've been pouring for 5 yrs.; I've learned a couple ways to save the paint. I do scrape some to the center of the canvas and then just tilt it around to make a background and start another pour on top. I also scrape and save the paint into a container to use as flow extender. I do strain it. I also pour over dried canvases I didn't wind up liking. Good luck with yours.

    I have been pouring for only a few months and I have scraped paint several times when the pour has turned out horrible. I always save my scrapings to use as an extender or sometimes if the color turns out good enough to use in a new painting. I have also done pours over old dried paintings that I felt were not good enough. I have tried to salvage a bad pour but usually end up with a mess. You did an outstanding job of salvaging your painting.

      @@gulfgal98 Thank you! I’ve really tried my best to make something out of everything I’ve poured. I’m also a lot more careful with what I make these days. Great idea keeping the paint for another use too if you decide to scrape it. Keep up the good work!

    Good save on this!! It has a cool look with the color blocks. I scrape all the time, lol! I’ve been using small canvases/boards lately so it’s not a ton of paint and I can reuse it as a base. When I was doing larger canvases I wouldn’t scrap as much, though. When I don’t like the composition or it was a bad blowout, pleat, etc. that’s when I scrape.

      @tonysfluidart  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks August! See, that's a good way to go about it! If I were to make some more small ones, I may consider it, but these ones are going to be whatever they turn out to be lol I'm also super thankful it worked out in the end!

    You saved it🎉 I have taken them out side and hosed the old paint off if still wet. If dry and I didn’t use silicone I did the same as you just did . I’m too lazy to sand 😂 I’ve only been watching and trying for two years . weeks that everything is wrong Then that magic moment, good luck to you.

    I’m using smaller canvas slowly graduating to larger canvases. I try stuff I see others due. If I try and it looks like crap I get frustrated scrap it. Going to try and bigger and a swipe I saw you do wish me luck. You amaze me how you save pours!

      Thanks Jan! It always funny to look back at the pours I did when I was starting out. Some I’ve kept because they turned out, and the stuff I’ve thrown away lives forever early in the YT page. I had some frustrating days back then too lol
      Thank you for trying things I’ve done, that’s a very nice compliment!!

    I think you saved it pretty well Tony. Looks good to me. I've scraped a few times and guess most of us have at some time. My last time was a couple of months ago trying a split cup for the first time. I hated the result and there was no sense in keeping it so it went straight under the tap. Once the canvas was dry I tried again and got a much better result so think it was justified getting rid of the first dismal attempt.
