    Great vlog Mark,passed you Thursday pm at A30/M5 split Northbound,I used to go to Ireland every quarter in my van with printed material from Exeter,4 drops,first 1 in Bray and then 3 in and around Dublin,used to be finished at Clonshaugh about 11am,then straight backdown to Rosslare but used to stop in Wexford for some fuel and food then park up and wait for the night ferry back to UK.Being half Irish I always feel at home when over there,miss that little trip,used to love it.Crack on.

    • @mtek334
      @mtek334 3 года назад

      WB Yeats is the poet but sea going vessels are given some sort of marine nomenclature like SS or whatever so MB Yeats is what this ferry is called. Yeats was also a shit poet - not as bad as Seamus Heaney but up there with the pretentious twats like MD Higgins etc.

    Loved your vid. Seen you going through Glen of the Downs at the beginning of your Irish journey. And to correct you on your pronunciation of the ferry name, its pronounced Y8s.or Yayts His full name was William Butler Yeats. Had an artist brother who is equally famous called Jack Butler Yeats. Deff you need to bring her indoors to Ireland and go to the West..Kerry, Galway, Sligo, etc. And if you listen carefully especially in Kerry you will hear the Irish Language been spoken. Especially on the Islands... Aran etc. And with due respect when non Irish walk into a pub and the natives are speaking Irish, they will revert to speaking English out of respect to people who may think the natives are talking about them. They prob will be but chances are with their accents you will probably not understand their English Pronunciations. But safe trucking no matter where you are driving. Oh btw are there 18 wheels under you at the best of times...

      Anyone that can take 10 days out in late May early June to do the Wild Atlantic Way route you describe, it's some treat. Amongst the most stunning scenery in the world at that time of the year. And not overcrowded.

    Well, that was something different for you I bet - I hope you had a good time for the couple of hours that you were over here.
    That Hino 10 legger BTW was probably running at 39,000Kg. You will see a fair few rigid trucks on 5 axles here as our weights are slightly higher than those in the UK. Our artics can run at 46,000 on 6 axles.

    A bit sad that you had never been to Ireland. There are quite a lot of English people who would not no be able to pick Ireland out on a map. I overheard two girls at a hen party in Temple Bar, one said to the other "Do have to change our watches now"!!!!

      Many years ago I ran a guest house. Once I had two women from London who had decided on a whim to come to Dublin for a weekend. They told me they had no idea how far it was and had been settling in for a long flight when were surprised to hear the announcement that the plane was beginning its descent to Dublin 😀
