      this is the only answer for why the steelers lost.
      Blame in order:
      1. Arthur Smith
      2. Tomlin
      3. O-Line
      4. Corliss Waitman
      5. the refs
      Kudos to the browns, though. they deserved that win.

    • @wvpv1188
      @wvpv1188 6 часов назад +1

      Agree mostly. I think the line was the key issue to blame on both sides. And continues to be the consistent glaring issue with this team. Them shutting down our pass rush was pretty unforeseen and also a huge factor. Jamis had a literal unlimited amount of time to throw the ball and their rush went completely unchecked most of the game. Meanwhile Russ had a collapsing pocket within 2 seconds and certifiably refuses to release the ball in under 6. So many fails with play calling on short situations that flagrantly turned the ball on downs and getting cute in the redzone instead of playing simply and soundly.. oh and taking 3rd and 7 over 4th and 2 with the game on the line was absolute insanity.

      @dsmith33 6 часов назад +4

      Agreed. There are 3 warning signs they better figure out though or it’ll bite them hard in the playoffs:
      1. Slow starts. Can’t keep waiting till the second half to score.
      2. Red zone. Can’t keep settling for FGs. They’re moving the ball fine.
      3. TJ Watt. They aren’t finding any ways to get him 1v1 opportunities. He’s good enough to still wreck a game but it’d be nice if they schemed some help for him.

      That was a fun game to watch. I always look at the schedule and teams records and decide if I will watch it or not, 8-2 team vs 2-8 team, usually means "meh, not so good". But AFC North, Steelers vs Browns, I thought this might be a good one. Jameis Winston, how can you not love that guy. His pre-game interview, big grin, happy to just be alive and playing football. Game was back and forth, it could have gone either way when it was approaching the end. So many times going for it on 4th, dropped passes, lucky catches, questionable play calls, missed kicks, bad punts, fumbles galore, Nick Chubb balling out after that horrible knee injury, from a football fan perspective, pure entertainment gold.

    Thanx for showing the remaining schedule of the Steelers!
    Now, this loss hurts even more.
    So in their six remaining games they play the Bengals twice, at Baltimore, at Philadelphia and vs. the Chiefs and the Browns again.
    Tough, tough sledding
    So Pittsburgh could be finishing in a 10-7ish way or maybe even worse.
    All of a sudden they look more than a wild card team to me right now than a division champion.

      I think if he is going to call Fields package plays, he needs to have him rollout on play action to give him a better option to run or throw while throwing off the defense. The PA rollout achieves everything they are trying to do with that package because it splits defenders on covering the running back or Fields and also gives Fields space to take off and run or possibly hit an open man. The read option can work, as we saw on that 30 yard run, but I think adding in at least one play action on instead of one of the read-options that the Browns snuffed out on the 3rd or 4th and shorts would have opened him up to pick up a first down with his legs or open up receivers.

    What does it mean. It means they threw away all the work they did to beat Baltimore. But hey, this is Trap Game Tomlin, the great Mediocre Mike! In 2000, he was 11-0, and lost 5 of the last 6. Here’s a clue from Noll and Cowher regarding inferior opponents, “You’ve got to overwhelm them in the first 20 minutes, or you inspire them to the conclusion that you can be beat.”

    Russ underthrew Clavin Austin what you mean? He hits him in stride that's a TD. All these "moon balls" Russ gets credit for are 50/50 balls, he's not dicing up the defense with his throws I really don't get it. Even if Russ is slightly better now Fields, I've watched every throw from each of them this year and Fields can make 90% of the same throws as Russ. Why not go with the 25 yo who could get even better??

    • @rogerrrabitt

      Fields has the talent to make those throws yes but he is reluctant to pull the trigger more than not.. when his confidence is up he can hit them but when it’s not he over throws

    Yes of course both teams had to play in the same horrible snow conditions.
    True, but that doesn't mean it effected both teams in the same ways.
    Steelers are known as one of the best and toughest defenses, but we all know that the defense are probably going to be the most negatively effected.
    So yes, the Browns won, I don't see anyone saying they didn't. But to think that the snow, etc...
    most likely didn't change the outcome of this game, is a bit ridiculous and nonsensical to be honest.

JJ holding onto JPJ's facemask right in front of refs, no call... Russ was closing the game and they were still talking about Winston's battery? Scripted story building and paid off. Back to crying in pittsburgh I go. good game lol

    Awful. No run game - trying largely same play up through the middle and going nowhere. O Line created no holes and didn’t provide great protection. Would have liked a greater passing game - we looked better when ball came out. That said too many laterals or short of line.

    Maybe Tomlin could stop hiring inferior subordinate coaches who never work again in the NFL, and get a decent staff that can build a flexible playbook that can alter course within a series, just in case your opponent figured out what you planned to do. Like maybe stop running halfbacks into a stuffed box for example.

    Remind us all again how great Tomlin is 🤡 3 losses, all against inferior teams! Great players win in spite of Tomlin and they lose because of Tomlin’s idiocy, gimmicks, and piss poor in game management. Period. End of discussion! He is not even in the top 1/3 of coaches. He’s underachieved with very good talent for over a decade.

      Steelers have to play Baltimore on the road, Philly, KC, and 2 games versus a team that CAN score...the Bengals. I see 10-7 and Baltimore winning the AFC North.
      Steelers will beat Cleveland and one of the Cincy games...to get them to 10 wins and we will win another participation trophy and stiffs like Eisen can suck on Tomlin's knob and tell us all what a great head coach he is.
