Excellent question.. in fact i talked about this a looot on a different platform (and different language 😅 ) I'll be making more videos about this then! And unfortunately, yes night shifts aren't very healthy 😕
Working night shift is absolutely horrible for your health. Drastically increases cancer risk, the quality of sleep decreases, increases stress levels (even if you get 8 hours of sleep), increases obesity. This is all a simple Google away, why ask a RUclips?? Such a pathetic take.
@@Dr.jayfrancis really? How about those people who are night owls that tend to stay late at night? So even if I sleep 8hrs on daytime, it's not the same on night time? Even if I eat properly, take vitamin D for lack of sunlight? it's not enough to counter the effects of working night shift? Hope you make a video hehe thank you for responding to my comment
@@sjkclau yeah there's a small debate about that. But it seems that this lifestyle is not the best (even if you take the same amount of sleep). Will do ! Thank you for watching!
The general recommendations are 7-9 depending on each person. But you should know that if you workout or you have sickness your body might need more than usual. The quality of sleep is also important, not only the quantity.
What about those of us that want to sleep more but find it hard to sleep that much long at a stretch? After 4 hours of sleep, our minds just start wandering 😂
In fact this is not uncommon unfortunately. And sleep problems are much more common than we think. Sleeping routine is a whole science and important to be addressed seriously since sleep affects the majority of our life and performance. What you are mentioning is one of these problems, I can make a video about it, but if you can follow up with a sleep specialist or your doctor it would definitely help you. 🌹
@@Dr.jayfrancis Thanks Doc. The last time I went to a doctor, she just discounted my claim saying I was too young to be experiencing sleep issues - even jokingly asking me funny questions like was I jilted my a girl? She finally discharged me without any prescription. Since that day I had not gone to any other doctor again. 😂
@@mikebabz oh, I’m sorry you had to experience this. But in my modest opinion I believe this shouldn’t be taken lightly. Sometimes small tricks can be of a big help.
Thank you doctor Jay!! ❤❤❤ Scary numbers indeed!!
Dr Jennifer ❤️❤️
What about night shift workers who sleep at day? Is it bad for health?

What about oversleeping? Is it bad?
This too, yes, oversleeping is also bad (slightly different than sleep deprivation, but still not so great)
How many hours of sleep is good?

@Dr Jay Francis sleep is overrated? Did you mean maybe underrated?
Definitely underrated! I just did the twist to make it catchy and create some curiosity 😏
Thank you Dr.😍😍😍
Thank you for watching ☺️
