Ik mis Arnhem we hebben een prachtige dierentuin Burgers Zoo en het openlucht museum waar je Nederland door de eeuwen heen kunt bekijken. Parken zoals het Sonsbeekpark is een mooie plek en heerlijke bossen om te wandelen. Het spijkerkwatier als je van mode houdt en nog veel meer.

These in general indeed aren't the places the average traveler would visit, since they simply are not well-known. How about the city of Leiden..? This also is a typical city the average traveler would not visit. although the city of Leiden is much older and culture-richer than the city of Amsterdam is. In fact in Leiden used to be a very important roman fortress called Castellum Matilo, and this fortress dates from the year 0046. Whereas Amsterdam dates from 1000 years later. In fact all of the places you've pointed out to us all they are much more interesting then the major "Over-lander" backpackers travelers would visit.
Advice, if ever you go visit Hoorn, you should go to Enkhuizen as well. But, only in summer. It is - my opinion - way more interesting and beautiful compared to Hoorn, and it has an amazing open air museum
Hey Marina, You did a very good effort pronouncing the city names. But it is AP-PING-E-DAM (the G has not the typical ggghhhh sound! ) and it is Vlis-sing-en (and again the G is not the ggghh sound!) Hope you are not getting desperate learning Dutch ;-) We still understand you 🙂 - More or less 😛 I will await Part 2! And after that I will make additional recommendations 🙂
