I am a 19 year old university student and I thought this was amazing. I think we, the youth, need you all the adults and elders to educate us in EVERY aspect of sex, sexuality and all of the mentioned campus. God created sex and it’s such an amazing and beautiful thing done in the correct moment, after marriage, and with the correct person, provided by God through prayer and fulfilling our purpose. Congrats. I'd Also suggest finding someone with similar views and who's also waiting (unless you're already married. Then nevermind! Lol) I was devastated after I had sex with my boyfriend at 19.... Was totally normal even considered late!!!! That he'd been with a few before me. I didn't know I'd feel that way until AFTER I did it. I couldn't let it go. I also assumed he'd want to get married because to ME it kind of meant we were going to but I just thought it was a formality after the fact. Kind of 1950's culture. I was a 90's kid but my parents were 50's ppl. I was the youngest of a ton of kids! So hoping you find that beautiful union and bond in marriage! I never did. Bit I'd be happy to know one person reading this benefits from my mistake!

I was abused as a child and I still struggle with this in my life and I'm in my fifties now I wish I would have heard this when I was younger could have saved me a lot of pain in my marriage. Marriage has been hard for me because of lack of intimacy, sex and affection. Im a woman and it's hard to talk about. I am praying God will fix this... it's not a good feeling to be rejected in marriage..🙏🙏

I had to live with a partner that was addicted to pornography for years. So was my father. It is something I had to deal with most of my life. And yet I still have faith and hope in the Lord.
Me too. My fiance,my dad,my grandad. It’s the spirit of lust and porn that is attached to our family tree. Nothing in spiritual realm is a coincidence-you were born in this spirit and that is why it follows you. You know the solution right? You have to denounce it in Jesus name! God waits for that someone in the family to patiently bear the cross while breaking and denouncing the genereational curse, asking for God’s forgiveness and repenting for all those souls that died unrepented. That is how you destroy it,so that future generations can be healed and set free from that horror. Someone has to recognize that sin and pray for pentenance. Honestly I dont know who has it worse-us women that have to bear that cross of humiliation and suffering or men who are addicted. I pray for you.
Finally someone is leading us in this, and saying the hard stuff to help us!!!

All the men I've know say it's their right to sew oats etc. Don't make then spread it etc. It's like they're digging my heart out with a spoon and eating it in n front of me. Great conversation ladies. I'm am RN and one thing that didn't get addressed is the issue of how women's bodies change physiologically in later years and how that can affect a marriage. Mainly speaking of menopause and all the symptoms that go with it making it difficult to have sex.

I really liked and appreciated this video, Ginger briefly touched on a important topic which is how women and men who grew up in the church, when they get married struggle with sexual intimacy. I would really like to hear more solutions on this problem, maybe bring in a sex therapist who can provide exercises to mentally help individuals struggling to 'flip the switch' from abstaining from sex to enjoying it with your spouse. Just a suggestion.
This is a great suggestion. That switch is a major part of our identity and it's hard to just let go after so long
I am engaged to my partner, and we live together. We are honoring God and waiting till marriage, at the start it was quite difficult, but in the midst of it, it helped us learn and understand what I means to yield to Jesus and The Holy Spirit. The power of prayer is all you need to overcome and learn to adapt the fruit of self-control. All I can say is seek God, keep him close, understand forgiveness and repentance and meditate on his word.

To me there are conflicting things. We shouldn’t do anything we’re not comfortable with but don’t deny your partner too often lest they stray outside the marriage. Sex doesn’t begin in the bedroom. My ex-husband didn’t help me as much I needed and it made me feel resentful. It was a complex situation.

My ex wife was like that, she thought sex was dirty. I said, not if you're married. Well after 35 years she decided she was done playing wife. Now I'm having a very hard time finding a new wife after being single 5 years. I'm not done having sex and I crave to love and be loved, so Lord please bring me a Godly woman. Thanks Joyce.

I’m working to be faithful in my marriage, which is without sex. I’ve not committed sexual adulteration for probably about 5 years now. I do have sexual dreams that don’t include my husband. I pray for God to be in my dreams to prevent them. I repent as I feel it as the same sin as actually committing it in real life. What passage from the bible can I turn to for help?
Thank you for all of your wisdom. And thank you for your example of talking to the Holy spirit for guidance while being intimate. It's inspiring. I'd like to add that marriage does not give a guarantee. Love gives the guarantee that you will less likely be harmed in your vulnerability when having sex with someone.
Of course it is beautiful to have the bond of love blessed by God in a marriage, but there are also marriages that are made in haste and without love and for all the wrong reasons and that end so soon you could have just as well not done it.
I'd say make sure that there is enough love and trust between you and the person you want to be physically intimate with and that it is not just a fling, as sex does create a strong bond that you need to mourn once the relationship is over, and which can take considerable time. When there is real love and trust, I believe God is there, wether you're married or not. It may be even better to be married on top of that, I don't know if it makes a big difference. It might. But I do know that the love is the most important ingredient.
The same as that a man may be a Christian but that does not guarantee he is a good man. Better look for one with a good heart, that means God is with them anyway. Maybe even better to look for a Christian or otherwise Godloving person with a good heart.
Also never put another's needs before your own in the bedroom. If it feels right and comes from love that you want to gift the other person with a service that you yourself weren't really in need of, that's beautiful, but never push your self beyond what's loving towards your self. You are worth the same as the other. Not less not more. But you are your first responsibility. If you don' t watch your boundaries, next time sex comes up you might feel like it even less. It's supposed to be enjoyable. Respecting your own needs and boundaries will only increase your longing to be sexually intimate with the right partner. When you have sexual trauma this is even more important. Coming out of your comfort zone is important though, like Joyce says, so that there can be enough sexual intimacy, but within your boundaries.

Joyce, this is so needed. You say it so kindly knowing so many of us have been put to shame and made to feel we are the dirty instigators who WANTed our abuse. Telling us that our desire for sex isn't bad. Bit it's the perversion of that is obviously eternal since its Biblical but in our current times; It's revolutionary!!!!! Truly. Such a delicate difference from just saying it's wrong.... Thanks for saying it's RiIGHT and NORMAL to have a sexual aspect to our selves.... A time and a place! I've accepted that unless I'm sent a very special man, that aspect of my life is up on a shelf. Every man I've ever known had only wanted to use and abuse and pervert things. I'm 43 so I'm accepting this party of my life is probably over. I was sad at first but the rest of my life is flourishing and richer because of what I've let go. You have me experiencing hope for a family life. I hope for this but I can be happy and serve God without it. But still from what you say... I'm feeling forgiveness for myself for my part sex life. It's not anything out of the ordinary for an American woman. Series of failed unmarried monogamous relationships. But I see them differently now. Thank you.

When she talks about sexual abuse... I include my past dating life where I was convinced and cohered into believing sex and marriage don't go together and I was wrong for wanting marriage and children. Like I was asking for so much. Culture and society I believe is collectively sexually abusiveor in normalizing strip clubs, infidelity, porn, etc. I wish I'd known God's vision of what sex was like this and that there weren't mean rules to make people feel bad but God's plan was for our happiness. Not shame. Not guilt... But for us to live fulfilling lives. Thanks, Joyce. I know my story is still God's path. I never stopped loving him or him me. I was lost but I'm found. There's a reason... Every day I'm dedicated to listening for God's voice.

After menopause I lost all my desire for sex. I still love my husband but we do have a sex less marriage
Some of this I agree with. Some of it I don't because I have experienced the opposite of some of the stuff she is talking about like waiting until you get married before having sex you are less likely to get divorced that was not true because I waited until I got married before we had sex and he still ended up leaving me for another woman and I did almost everything he wanted to do. But I found out later on that the other women he left me for treated him like dirt. And I didn't I treated him with respect the way the Bible talks about how a woman should treat her husband. You and I were raised the same sexually abused at a young age and pornography was the norm in my house I knew what a penis was at a very young age. But you can't dwell on the past you have to move on I am 59 years old now and try to leave the past in the past but programs like this one reminds me of that past the things that happened. Love you Mrs. Meyer I know you don't like being called by your first name by people you don't know.

I am very thankful to see this subject spoken about in a mature manner because the entire church and world needs this. Sexual immorality is probably one of the biggest problems in all of society today. If Christian leaders don’t speak up and speak the Truth of what God’s Word really says then no one else will. Please please preach more on sex within marriage! The second I got married, sex was attacked by the enemy. I would like to learn more on the spiritual significance of sex and hear common cultural myths about sex debunked (such as "it gets boring the longer you are married"). Is oral sex in the marriage a sin. Also I don't hear people talking about the Song of Solomon or Song of Songs depending on what version you have. Not have women been abused but men too.
