Queens
Queens is the easternmost and largest in area of the five boroughs of New York City. If each New York City borough were an independent city, Queens would also be the nation's fourth most populous city, after Los Angeles, Chicago, and Brooklyn.[2] Queens is the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world.
Queens has the most diversified economy of the five boroughs of New York City[7] and is home to JFK International Airport and LaGuardia Airport. These airports are among the busiest in the world, causing the airspace above Queens to be the most congested in the country. Attractions in Queens include Flushing Meadows Park - whose Citi Field athletic stadium is home to the New York Mets baseball team - and the US Open tennis tournament; as well as Kaufman Astoria Studios, Silvercup Studios, and Aqueduct Racetrack. The borough has diverse housing, ranging from high-rise apartment buildings in the urban areas of western and central Queens, such as Jackson Heights, Flushing, Astoria, and Long Island City, to suburban neighborhoods in the eastern part of the borough such as Little Neck, Douglaston, and Bayside.
Economy
Queens has the second-largest economy of New York City's five boroughs, following Manhattan. As of 2003, Queens had almost 40,000 business establishments. Small businesses act as an important part of the borough's economic vitality with two thirds of all business employing between one and four people.
Several large companies have their headquarters in Queens, including watchmaker Bulova, based in East Elmhurst; internationally renowned piano manufacturer Steinway & Sons in Astoria; Glacéau, the makers of Vitamin Water, headquartered in Whitestone; and JetBlue Airways, an airline based in Long Island City.
Long Island City is a major manufacturing and back office center. Flushing is a major commercial hub for Chinese American and Korean American businesses, while Jamaica is the major civic and transportation hub for the borough.
Sports
Citi Field is a 41,922-seat stadium opened in April 2009 in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park that is the home ballpark of the New York Mets of Major League Baseball.[122] Shea Stadium, the former home of the Mets and the New York Jets of the National Football League, as well as the temporary home of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants Football Team stood where Citi Field's parking lot is now located, operating from 1964 to 2008.[123]
The US Open tennis tournament has been played since 1978 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, located just south of Citi Field.[124] With a capacity of 23,771, Arthur Ashe Stadium is the biggest tennis-specific stadium in the world.[125] The US Open was formerly played at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills.[126] in South Ozone Park is the home of Aqueduct Racetrack, which is operated by the New York Racing Association and offers Thoroughbred horse-racing from late October/early November through April.

ciel222 these buildings/apartments are already taken by construction projects or will be in the future.... even the torn up abandoned houses are getting replaced. There have been more projects then there were 4 months ago 😄
Yes! Ive stayed here 2 months ago and already beautiful buildings have been built. The courtyard hotel is so gorgeous! I really love places like that!

LIC and DT Brooklyn are both booming.
NYC has gotten so much nicer over the past few decades.
WOW, you really do get around. Lucky you! I'd love to travel for a living and shoot videos all day and night! That would be the perfect job.

I like the guy at 7:56 He stays the whole day on the crossroad, drink his coffe and hold this sign 'slow'.
Flo22 yeah but he's out there on not such nice and sunny ☀️ days. He probably has to be out there in all kinds of crappy weather.

OMG have not been here since the 90's lol would not recognize the place. The buildings are so high now.
This is a great video. Maybe you could make an updated version, because there are many more tall buildings around Queens Plaza.

The drivers there are terrible. But that's to be expected in a densely populated city.
Remek!
It would nice to see more than sitting in traffic...
I remember back in the 1950's Tv shows came from LIC...After awhile it went down hill..For years the place looked like crap..Now They're building back up, and the place is going to get expensive to live..Now is the time to buy in..
How was it in 1970 was it different also.
@@traviscarter1023It was gloomy and drab...Now they have new condos, office buildings. Hotels..Looks alot better..
To much traffic. Was this during rush hour?

Long island looks like jaipur
so much traffic jams
I used to live there. My address was 33-43 14th street in a co-op called Queens view west. It was the worst time of my life. Now I live on Whidbey Island; the best time of my life. I pity all of you who live back there.
Is that nearby Long Island.
@@traviscarter1023 Whidbey Island is situated in the middle of Puget Sound in the state of Washington. Search for it on RUclips.
@@josephonwhidbey Funny you said I live in Washington. But I'm thanking about moving back to Long island NY.
@@traviscarter1023 If your not happy where you are you won't be happy on Long Island.
@@josephonwhidbey What wrong with Long Island.
