Can you drive through the streets next time, so we can see the diff houses and apartments there, also the Grand Concourse and where the train is in the air
@Dr. Robert Neville lol yeah land that used to belong to a certain place where those ppl are from. You go to russia you see Russians rite ? Alright then. Read a map.
Though the Bronx has problems, especially gang problems throughout (though mainly projects and apartment buildings), it’s one of the most visually interesting borough in NYC, with Brooklyn being the second. I traveled there and it just feels different to me.
My mother side of family is from Jamaica, West Indies 🇯🇲. My late Grandfather, my Uncles and My Mother used to live in the Bronx, NYC back in the day's.
Love this driving video of NY's Bronx. Feels like I'm actually driving the car myself. Been in Chicago for over 30 yrs and still think NYC and it's five burroughs are so electric and dynamic. 3 times as much population and BS proabally but there is something about that NYC vibe that can't be replicated. I'm stuck in Chicago but I love the NYC area and visit as often as I can !
People in the streets, a lot of shops! It's lively. A contrast to many of your other downtown area videos. I like this here very much! I'm from Germany.
We all missing the old 8 trains that used to run on the 3rd Avenue Elevated trains between Gun Hill road 149 Street 3rd avenue Never for get about the old 8 Rd Avenue Elevated subway trains Even though they had cleaned up 3rd avenue Webster Ave Bronx gun hill road real good you know they had build the second Avenue subway line underground to 96 Street Soon the T/Q trains are going to be extended to 125 Street However the old 3 Rd Avenue elevated line is missing now we only have the BX 15 bus no more BX 55 buses that used to replace the old 3rd avenue Elevated trains between Gun Hill road 149 Street 3rd avenue Bronx
Hey mine too! And please the rebranding was bothersome when I was growing during the flight. "South Bronx ", is the gerrymandering it was considered to be. Now it's the Downton Bronx. Interesting 🤔

If you grew up in the Bronx in the 70's, as I did, you'd be as pleased to see clean streets, and a brighter environment than back then. Mind you, I'm not blind to the fact that there are still great issues that face it, especially in the South Bronx. But as I said, and if you knew what it was like back then, especially in the mid-70's, you'd understand.
I was always scared $#|+!3$$ of going to the Bronx when I was younger because of all the terrible things I've heard, but now I practically want to live there, and I've never even been to the Bronx, but I've been to the city plenty of times. In addition to not having been there (yet), I regret listening to others with negative attitudes about that area, and taking their word for it. I love NY City.
This is a great example of why I'm so optimistic about the future! The internet is making us all more aware of concept behind your comment. Great comment and look forward to hearing from you again :)
Dr. Warsteiner lmao hater there’s no history in the north Bronx that’s why you mad lol lame asses . South Bronx is bigger than the north side bet you didn’t even know we own castle hill now huh ? Hater
The Bronx is better than I expected. I was in Queens once going from and to Laguardia and Queens seems more dirty and run down than what this video shows of the Bronx. I like the city vibe here. I am from the midwest btw
Every time I see a video like I wonder where are the people. Cause the Bronx is never empty. And clear streets where is that at too. Was this early in the morning?
Firstly, it's a great video, you feel like you're riding along in the car, but I have 3 observations... 1. It was not what I expected. this could be any medium size town, not a borough of 8 million people New York City , I'm surprised how quiet it seemed to be, 2. I couldn't help but notice you were behind 2 different cars from Virginia, no point, I just found it amusing, and 3. I was waiting to see Yankee Stadium, is it not in the Bronx? Oh and 4. I loved the old buildings that still had the ghosts of old advertisement from the turn of the last century painted on their bricks. Great video.

Reed A. There’s a lot of new and renovated buildings where there used to be abandon or vacant lots. The Bronx still has its bad vibes but nothing like 90s, 80s & 70s. The city has been putting a lot money into it for the past 2 decades now so it looks a lot better, but shit still goes on here. There’s still projects, drugs, knives, guns, gangs, welfare etc.
Guys, I was just there yesterday. I was mostly in University Heights and Morris Heights in West Bronx, in places like University Ave, Grand Ave, areas west of Grand Concourse. Seemed like a more quiet, peaceful area. Any further feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
They need to stop calling third Avenue downtown Bronx . The Bronx never had a downtown anything. The Bronx’s In the geographical sense is all the way north from the rest of the other boroughs

Maybe it isn't perfect, but the Bronx does look like its in better shape compared to the 70s, and 80s at least.
Only the South Bronx looked like that. The North Bronx was a whole different world. You can hardly find anything documenting the Northern Bronx.
Yup
Charlene Massac which was worst north or south Bronx
Charlene Massa, next time I'm in town, I'll definitely explore this New York Borough. It looks genuine and full of life.
The lowlifes are majority of the people out there compared to those who are civilized.
I lived on 231st on Broadway and drove to work in Manhattan every morning in 99 - 00, great memories!

What the hell is downtown Bronx? The Bronx doesn't have a downtown.
Darryl Bass the south bronx is the down town of the bronx ..u do know they have the north bx right
Darryl Bass it’s technically downtown although it’s not conventionally downtown.
I grew up in the South Bronx and never called it that. Highbridge was Highbridge, Riverdale was Riverdale etc. Must be new slang but that's OK.
hostile177 must be it's new, gentrified name.
He meant to put "Dirt Town" not Downtown
