Have been wondering about these units. Love it! Thank you! BTW, as far as wired HDMI long runs, I tested a 35 foot cable and it worked fine. Then I installed it through a ceiling. It was working both directions for a short time but now it only sends the picture and has lost the ability to receive control from the ATEM Mini Pro. Have you any thoughts on that?

What is the approximate difference in latency between the 3 modes (balanced, speed, image)?

@@younken24films Buy a Fibre optics HDMI cable. Works well even at 300ft and it sends all the information to ATEM with the ability to receive control from the ATEM to the camera and guess what it is quite cheap. 4K Fiber Optic HDMI Cable 200 Feet, HDMI 2.0 18Gbps, Supports 4K 60hz(4 4 4, Dolby Vision, HDR10, E-ARC, HDCP2.2) 1440p 144hz, One-Way Work www.amazon.com/dp/B07PYQNSR6/ref=cm_sw_r_wa_apa_i_Ad.dFb374R7TK And yes, it has been tested. I purchased two sets of these a few weeks ago for a outdoor graduation that we streamed live. They worked flawlessly. The distance to one of the transmitters was about 200 feet and the other about 100 feet. I also used wireless mics (PicoGear) to the most distant transmitter (mounted on a C100ii) and it was also connected to a iPad Pro in another location inside a building. There were no problems. They were connected to my ATEM mini pro then out to RUclips. Other than a bandwidth issue that was caused by the audience which forced me to drop 720p, the 400s units were amazing. The Mars 400s units and the ATEM mini pro have made my amateur steaming experience so much nicer!

Great review. Thank you Tom Cooper for your question. I have a BM URSA Mini SDI and moving away from Tricaster (it is old) to getting the ATEM. This is awesome for being a mobile unit and not worrying about cables or unknown setups. I know you can use the BM converter box which is much cheaper. Also, thanks for running through all the various use cases. This helps justify the price when it comes to be needed.

Great video sir! I have two Mars 300 Pro Enhanced transmitters and I haven't had any interference issues between them. However, it is susceptible to RF interference. I recently livestreamed one my indoor electric karting league endurance races and ran the transmitters through my Atem Mini Pro and there were plenty of times when the go karts came racing by that the signal would jam or blackout momentarily then reconnect the signal. Understanding that the intended purpose for this device is for monitoring only, I saw some slight latency with audio, but was negligible from my perspective.
Additionally, I want to thank you for your video on using macros to increase the size of the PIP windows. That was a huge win as I could stream the live results of the go kart race while switching between the two wireless cameras I had around the track.

Great review on the Mars 400S. I have a question about distance, it always talks about being in line of site, but how about when you can't or don't want to use it that way. Do you think it will work when the Tx and the Rx are a floor apart? Roughly the Rx will be 1 floor below the Tx about 75ft actual distance and the Rx is below where the ceiling is covered with the old stamped metal sheeting that was popular about 75 years ago?? Any help here would be great.
Keep up the great work. Thanks.

I am pretty new at this and would connect all 3 cameras to the Blackmagic Atem Mini Pro Iso. Since I will also have to buy 3 new cameras, which ones will you recommend in the mid price range? Best regards, Rune H. from Norway.

Great video! I'm still kind of concerned about audio latency in the ATEM Mini Pro when compared with the wireless HDMI. I have found that I need about 5 frames of audio latency to match the HDMI latency coming from my Panasonic cameras (GH5/GH5s/G9) so if this has more overall latency when compared to audio that might hit the 8-frame limit on the ATEM. Any way you could check that?

Quick question, are you able stream with a Panasonic Camera directly to the transmitter as well as iPhones wirelessly back to the receiver connected to the ATEM mini pro and be able to function as two cameras when you switch cameras on the ATEM? And function that same way through OBS As well? If that makes sense...

hello mr Undone. I don't know if you will ever see this message but i have a serious connection issue i am trying to peice together. I cannot afford a teradek so I am looking at the 300 mar or the 400 mars. if i get the 400 mars i can connect the ninja v to it and have sdi output from the reciever, but if i dont get the 400s and get the 300 i would get a blackmagic sdi converter and use that (3000) as the transmitter. what makes the most sense. the sdi Blackmagic Design HDMI to SDI 6G Mini Converter priced at $145 and the 300 pro$422. verses the $569 for the 400s

I'd be curious to hear an answer to this! The teradeck ace should near 0 latency, right? But as a work around I'd try an HDMI splitter with EDID override or emulation. I have one of those splitting my PC monitor and feeding the duplicate output to the Atem Mini working great.
