For me... this is one of the greatest albums ever cut! This song flows right out of "Bridge Of Sighs". It's awesome that you plan on getting it in vinyl:) Every track of this album deserves a reaction because this is an album you can play from start to finish and not want it to end. This is a great album for those cold rainy winter days ahead.
I love Robin Trower, one of my favorites and the older I get the more I like his music! Hoping he gets out on the road once more because I never saw him Live. I celebrate Trowers entire collection!
Thanks guys, one of the greatest blues rock albums of all time. Trower is shamanistic in his brilliant guitar playing. James Dewar was one of the greatest blues voices if his generation. RIP James
Every instrument is in the groove and the vocals are stellar…. A Scotsman singing the blues with that deep voice. This album is great from start to finish.
Trower did a few albums with Jack Bruce (bassist and singer for Cream) that are superb stuff as well. "Into Money" is a short but sweet jam you should NOT miss.
I saw Robin Trower in 1974 while he was touring in support of this album, he opened for King Crimson. All these years later, it’s still one of the best shows that I’ve ever seen.
Hey La & Che, so to help give you a reference to who Robin Trower is, he was also a founding member of a very popular band called "Procol Harem" which was a very big deal from 1967-1971, and then again as a bandleader of his band "Robin Trower Band." For more than six decades Robin Trowers career has known know bounds and at 78 he's still out there performing. He released a new studio album called "No More Worlds to Conquer" on April, 29 2022. Here's a song from the album, if interested. "Robin Trower - Birdsong [Official ]" (with Richard Watts on the vocals) it's not an easy task to try and find a replacement of James Dewar's truly missed vocals, but I think Watt's pulled it off. Great reaction...hope you gentleman have a good day
Oh yes....this album is essential listening! Robin Trower is a fantastic blues guitarist and James Dewar has that signature voice. I highly recommend you guys do a deep dive into this one. 👌
Hey guys...this whole album is like a STORY. SUPERB if you drop the needle at the beginning and play through til the end! Each song connects into a whole world. Played the hell out of this. Great you felt it too. ❤❤❤❤
One of the best albums ever made. I heard his live album in 1978 and has been my fav guitarist ever since. Seen him many times and he is such a nice humble person also. He can play such beautiful, haunting music and then the next one will melt your face off.
**** This song, especially the vocal by James Dewar reaches into my soul. I first heard it around 1978-9 after I went through a very painful divorce. The emotion of the instrumentation, words and James's tone touches so many areas. A truly perfect song and performance. James (RIP) was gone way to soon.
Wow this Lp takes me back to a wonderful and much simpler time in my life! I was 17 years old, Stoned, underage in a Funky bar near London, with this Record tucked under my arm ! And this Beautiful girl came up to me and said 'Oh you like Robin Trower?' The rest is old history from my youth, but still a cherished memory from my Teenage 70s I was pretty stylish back then! Long hair, flares , my brothers Long Afghan coat and a Top hat! Luckily there's no photos from back then! If there had been my grown-up kids would still be ripping the piss out of me! Still Loving the music!... X
This is my favorite song by Mr. Trower a very un appreciated musician. James RIP voice is magical this song has a special meaning to me. Love Robin Trower thanks for reacting to this great song. Keep up the phenomenal work guys..
One of my favorite bands. I was a young adult when this album was released and it's a classic. This song hits hard. I always get a little misty eyed when I hear it. It touches the soul.
I listened to this album over and over when I was Freshman in high school just because it was different at the time. Trower is so under rated and overlooked...and James Dewar's voice is so soulful...the perfect match to Trower's guitar stylings.
Hey fellas. So glad you reacted to this one. (I still have this album on vinyl, by the way) I purchased this album after hearing "Day Of The Eagle" on the radio back in '74. It was produced by Matthew Fisher who was the organist from Trowers former group "Procol Harum". Always loved this track and especially the guitar work at the end. Enjoyed your reaction as always. Peace.
Trower is one of the greatest blues rock guitar players of all time. First time I heard him in the 70's I was completely mesmerized and he continues playing to this day.
Been a Robin Trower fan for many years! His tone early on reminded me a lot of Hendrix which drew me to his music eventually I learned to appreciate his uniqueness. And yes this track is a Gem, the ambiance and mood of this song is both beautiful yet disturbing to me if that makes sense!? But, I love it. Great reaction. 🤘😊
Last live show we saw was in 2019, my 16th show since 1974. 4:23 A day before the show a buddy asked me “how many times are you going to see Trower”. I said “when one of doesn’t breathe any more” . I love Robin Trower!
A fantastic album for rock/blues aficionados. Believe it or not Trower is still putting out good music. Check out his 2022 release No More Worlds to Conquer.
I wore out this on 8 Track in my car in HS. I had a lot of friends that would hear it and ask "Who the hell is that???". They would immediately go out and buy this album.
Hey guys, this is one of those albums you gotta listen to as a whole, much like Floyd. Love your guys content. One day I’ll tell you about the time I saw SRV in a little bar in NY with about 50 other people on his first American tour supporting the Couldn’t Stand the Weather release…Epic!! Subscribed
One of the very best albums of the 70s, Bridge of Sighs was magnificent, every song is golden. If you have not heard the title track, do that next, if you have, do A Little Bit of Sympathy. Robin Trower's 70s output is dope, try more, you will love him. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎶
Very haunting sound... Love Robin Trower's guitar work and the soulful vocals of James Dewar... FYI: Robin Trower was the lead guitarist for the English rock group Procul Harum back in the late 60's with huge hits Whiter Shade of Pale, Salty Dog, Conquistador, Whisky Train and many more. All are worth checking out on your channel.
I 100% agree with you. Unfortunately they decided to do the live version of Bridge Of Sighs a few months ago. The live version is good but doesn’t come close to the studio album version.
One of the all times great albums! I was at a friends house passing the bud! He put this album on and the groove was insane! Still playing this album today! It keeps the older me connected to the younger me! Awesome vibe! Chiguy
I was 14 when this album came out. Immediately ran out and bought a guitar. Been listening ever since. Seen him play many times, a few up close & personal. One of the most underrated guitarists and Dewar is an unbelievable singer.
It’s great to see you hear this great, 50 year old rock music, and recognize its quality. I whole heartedly agree that you need this album, Bridge of Sighs, on vinyl, and I suggest you get his Long Misty Days on vinyl also. Then go back and dig into the Procol Harum catalog. Watching and listening to your reactions reminds me of how extensive the early rock library is, and how great so much of the music was. I love that you are digging deeper into the albums, past the radio hits, to the real gems that often never made it to the radio. Or if they did occasionally make it to the radio it was in a special show, like “7th Day” or “King Biscuit’s Flower Hour”. On 7th Day they would play seven albums in their entirety, on the seventh day (Sunday). Keep enjoying the music guys!
What's up guys!! Great pick..I suggest checking out "Day of the eagle", I first got turned onto this album in '78..One of the great guitar players for sure..Shout out from the old metal head from Detroit!! Peace and love as always!!
Hey guys, I love listening to your channel. I got one for you. After Stevie Ray Vaughan died, his band joined up with Charlie Sexton and Doyle, Bramhall II to form the band Arc Angels Chris Layton on drums. Tommy Shannon on base. Too many ways to fall, or the shape I am in. If you want to see him live try she’s all right. A tribute song that is heartfelt about the loss of Stevie Ray is see what tomorrow brings. These guys are stacked with talent and deserve a listen. Both Doyle and Charlie sing and play killer guitars. That’s my two cents worth.
Great reaction guys! Robin Trower is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time. He was heavily influenced by Jimi Hendrix. You can hear that similar style with his use of effects especially the wah wah and of course like Hendrix he played a Fender Stratocaster. Still performing today at a very high level.
This and the Twice Removed From Yesterday album are my favorites from Robin Trower. Sometimes I'll loop "Hannah" and "Man of the World" for like half an hour just to take me back to 73💫
glad you like that, Gentlemen. another "bluesy" ballad. If you don't know this trio, you've heard plenty blues and can assosciate. Singer, here, has the type of voice for this music. You want to hear golden vibes --- listen Mel Torme.
8.8.23. This whole Album is Superb©️🎸 James Dewar’s singing is so perfect🎯
damn right man
Yes
Great bass player too.James had such a soulful voice.

Amen
My late husband was friends with Jimmy Dewar and loved this album. I had Bridge of Sighs played at his funeral
wow! i would have loved to have met James Dewar, Beautiful Voice, how did he Pass???
@@louiesalinas4720 Jimmy had a stroke
I'm jealous. What a voice he had.
This is a must own album and it's really cool you're hearing this now, because you'll definitely hear how this influenced other genres later on.
Whole album is a vibe.
Couldn't agree more.
100%
Indeed.
What DM said! Chill listening to the entire album.
I love Robin Trower, one of my favorites and the older I get the more I like his music! Hoping he gets out on the road once more because I never saw him
Live. I celebrate Trowers entire collection!
Thanks guys, one of the greatest blues rock albums of all time. Trower is shamanistic in his brilliant guitar playing. James Dewar was one of the greatest blues voices if his generation. RIP James
Me and my late wife loved to slow dance to this song, we did it for 38 yrs. Love this album, now this song has a different meaning really miss her.✌️
Sorry for your loss 😢
Wow... I just listened to the lyrics from your perspective... I get it... May you be rejoined with her in the end (beginning) God Bless 👍
The whole album is a serious groove. It’s worth the purchase.
My fave road trip CD!!
took the words right out my mouth
This trio was brilliant. Robin Trower is still making music and performing. He made a fine new album two years ago.
Let's hear it for James Dewar with those vocals and that bass. One of my favorite singers from that era.
This entire album is killer good. I think this one really show cases Jim Dewars beautiful voice.
Every instrument is in the groove and the vocals are stellar…. A Scotsman singing the blues with that deep voice. This album is great from start to finish.
Jeez....this entire album is top notch blues jam. Trower is so underrated and always pulls in massive talent around him.
Trower did a few albums with Jack Bruce (bassist and singer for Cream) that are superb stuff as well. "Into Money" is a short but sweet jam you should NOT miss.

That must have been amazing. I'm jealous!
Saw a show from that tour as well 👍
Saw Robin Trower headlining in 1977 in Australia with James on bass / vocals. Incredible set. Album never gets old. Top 10 all time for me.
Trower's name get left off most people's top guitarists most of the time but he's as good as anybody that ever played.
Hey La & Che, so to help give you a reference to who Robin Trower is, he was also a founding member of a very popular band called "Procol Harem" which was a very big deal from 1967-1971, and then again as a bandleader of his band "Robin Trower Band." Wish you'd also commented on James Dewar's magical vocals on this track. He was such an exceptional singer.
Saw these guys in ‘74 when this came out. This track has always been one of my favorites. Thanks for covering it. James Dewar on bass and vocals!

“About to begin” is another slow mellow evocative song off this brilliant album
@lyn, completely agree. Another of 'The Masters' unheralded masterpieces, like the track our hosts reviewed SO well
I listened to this album over and over when I was Freshman in high school just because it was different at the time. Trower is so under rated and overlooked...and James Dewar's voice is so soulful...the perfect match to Trower's guitar stylings.
More goodness from a true "Master Of the Stratocaster". Had this album since it came out, and it is always close to my turntable. Play it LOUD.
A legendary & iconic album from beginning to the very end..A MUST OWN album.

Great album...perfect for the late Jimmy Dewar's vocals.
Always loved the outro, where there are about 4 different little guitar things going on. One of the greatest albums of all time.
This song should always be preceded by "Bridge of Sighs." One flows right into the other.
I 100% agree with you. Unfortunately they decided to do the live version of Bridge Of Sighs a few months ago. The live version is good but doesn’t come close to the studio album version.
I was a DJ for 10 years. I'd always play Bridge of Sighs and this together and someone would always call and thank me...
This cd is going into my coffin. Thats how much I loved this album. I want it with me for eternity.
Great album been listening to it for 40+years
