So we just picked up the 10 ft 2 weight of vesper. After watching your review. We are excited about how light it was advertised for. When we received the rod we put it on a jewelry scale but the scale read .42 ounces heavier than advertised. We emailed them thinking maybe they was a mix-up or it was mislabeled. After not receiving an email back from them after 2 days. We emailed them again. The response was "that would be false advertising and we weigh our rods on a certified rod scale." With nothing else to add. Did your vesper weigh what was advertised?
If you had to choose between the Vesper 10'6" 3w, and the Epiphany II 10'6" 3w, which one would you choose? I see that you have reviewed both. The Vesper is considerably more expensive... is it worth it?
Thanks for the review! I own the Vesper 10'6" rod as well and I agree with your sentiments! I would love to see them come out with a 2 weight version of this as well!
Cheers! We're all-in on Moonshine rods. Especially after experiencing their after sales service. We've got a 2wt Epiphany that's another legendary pole.
I agree, if there was a 2weight version I'd be on it like a seagull on a hot chip. Actually think it would suite our water better. Where do you fish yours?
@@pierrejoubert394 I have the 2 wt Epiphany and I like it, especially for detecting subtle strikes. but the tip is a bit whiny and does not cast as accurately as my Vesper 3wt euro rod. I am fishing relatively small rivers in California.
Yes it is! You can ship the Vesper to South Africa directly from this Amazon link amzn.to/3dOzoxY (← affiliate link thanks for your support) or from the Moonshine Website Directly. When you order on Amazon to Cape Town, includes the customs import charges so there are no surprises. I believe it's an extra $90USD or so including shipping cost and the duty. In our experience it gets there within a week or so. Pretty awesome.
Thank you for your in-depth reviews. You have reviewed both the Echo Shadow X and the Moonshine Vesper. How do the rods compare? Is one better than the other in your opinion. I am looking to get one in that price range and don't have access to either to put my hands on it. I would trust and value your input on this. Thank you.

Thanks for the review
Only a pleasure
Thanks for watching!
How would you compare it with the diamond 10’ 3 weight?
I prefer this over the diamond for sure.. This is one of my go-to nymphing rods right now. Not a Contact II or ESN HD, but it's a great nymph rod.

@@docjoe1 yeah I get you, also have 2wt Epiphany. We'll have to wait for Moonshine to bring out a 2wt EN Vesper.
@@docjoe1 For sure. Moonshine should do a 2wt Vesper EN
I wonder if you would be able to do a review on the 4wt 10’ epiphany.
We can try. Got some other weights of Epiphany already you can check out. Great value rods
Very helpful.
So would you choose the 3wt euro bester over the Orvis Helios?
For the price pointe? Yes!
Available locally (Cape Town)?

@Mitchell Denysschen You're welcome to come and test one if you're in the Paarl area.
@@pierrejoubert394 thanks! You would not go down to 2wt for cape streams ?
@@mitchelldenysschen3224 I would definitely, yes! My primary Cape Streams rod is a 10ft 2wt.
@@mitchelldenysschen3224 I have a 2wt Moonshine Epiphany too if you want to test that.

Sorry for the delay. I’ve relayed this to Pierre as he’s fished both rods extensively and he’ll get back soon.
