In the Aquarium/Cathedral stage, knock your opponent into that hole and the next round will begin in a red room full of shark zoanthropes. - Uriko's throw CAN connect. She grabs the opponent and spins them, dizzying them. She's also considered one of the best characters in the game. - Beastorizer is only the US name of the arcade Bloody Roar 1. The name was changed for Arcades because it was too violent then changed back for home consoles because Bloody Roar was a far more marketable name. - Bloody Roar 2 DID get an arcade release. Supposedly there's an arcade version of 3 but I've seen no proof of it's existance. - There IS an Animorphs game on PS1. - Though Primal Fury is an enhanced port of 3, it has a different story and adds a lot. - Bloody Roar 1-3 did not have much blood. It was Bloody Roar 4 that turned the blood up to 11! - "Lobster Girl", Nagi the Spurious, is a fake Unborn (Spurious means counterfeit). - Shina was just called Marvel in Japan, not Shina the Marvel ever. The explanation for her name was that she did so good on the battlefield that they called her Marvel. However, yeah, they didn't wanna get sued by Marvel so they changed her name to Shina for the US - Greg was black in the arcade version of Beastorizer but was made white for the home release because "OH SHIT!" - Uriko is Mitsuko's (the Boar) daughter, Alice is her adopted sister. - The reason Uriko is a half-beast is because she was experimented on in Bloody Roar 1 (where she was the end boss, a Were-DEMON). This screwed up her DNA and now she can't fully transform. - The explanation for Jenny's transformation is that she's not a Zoanthrope but a vampire. Maybe. - With the exception of the CG cutscenes, Bloody Roar extreme on XBox is identical to the Japanese Gamecube Primal Fury. The only real addition was the character Fang (a third costume for Yugo). - Stun's backstory is that he was a scientist that tried to quit Tylon so Busuzima captured and experimented on him and tried turning him into a Zoanthrope. Bug DNA and human DNA aren't compatible though and so he became a monster thing. ...I THINK that's it. Yeah we need Bloody Roar 5. I mean the team is still around, they made Marvel 3! I remember playing this game when I was younger called The Bouncer. It was a PS2 four player fighting game that used the pressure sensitivity relatively well. The only problems I had with it were that the stage camera would sometimes be a little rough on some of the larger stages, and there were definitely characters that were more OP than the others. But it was still fun more or less.
Oh, man. Good memories playing this game with my brother. I'm so glad you guys played it for Friday Night Fisticuffs! Uranus, Uriko and Shina were the ones I mainly played while he normally picked Bakuryu and Chronos.
To this day, I long for Beastorizer: Revengeance. Ideally with all the characters, since they just ERASED Mitsuko and Greg and pretended nothing happened. And also Uriko's weird Super Saiyan Green in-between state never returned, but I guess Uranus stole her BR1 boss kit.
Always felt this was as close as i would ever get to a Guyver game. The Designs of Xion The Unknown and Stun the Insect felt so influenced by Guyver. I would love a HD release of this or a new game on this Gen.

This is the second time these guys have played a game that fills me with such nostalgia. I played the SHIT out of this game when I was younger and I love these guys for unconsciously playing what I didn't know I wanted them to.

I never even heard of this game until now, I hope a newer version of this gets made for the PS4, either this or Primal Rage, either title could be a good equivalent to the X1's Killer Instinct, and it would be better if they actually come out with all the characters at release, instead of having 6 characters at launch & having to wait for the rest to come out as DLC. Seriously, the concept alone makes me interested in this game, fighters that can turn into animals, pretty much an Animorph fighting game. And considering how many animals there are in existence, there's many possibilities for other characters, it would be even more interesting if Mythical animals are in too, like Cerberus or The Hydra, and how hilarious would it be if the fighters can turn into dark, aggressive versions of Pokemon? That will *never* happen as long as Nintendo is around, but think about it.
***** Actually, Konami owns the Bloody Roar series now. From what I've read, a sequel is in the works, but they lack the financial push & marketing. So there's hope, Sony just has to get their hands on that game before MS does.
***** ALSO remember that the people who actually MADE the game are Eighting, the people who made Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Marvel vs Capcom 3 (and a bunch of Naruto fighters, a Bleach fighter on PSP, a Zoids fighter, a Fate//Stay Night fighter, a Kenichi fighter, a bunch of Kamen Rider fighters, and they helped with Castlevania Judgement) so they're still around.

Oh god, bloody roar, I remember this game so fondly, my friend has a bloody roar game on his PS2 and I absolutely loved the guy that was able to turn into a raven, he just felt so good to play for me.
This video hit me with a full sized train of unstoppable nostalgia. This game may not be perfect, but it's fun enough for my friends and I to have gotten caught playing it for hours on end.

Wow this game takes me back. Hadn't been friends with my Gamecube for long when I got this game, somehow. I honestly can't remember how I got it. Loved the anime cutscenes, the music and it is the first and only Bloody Roar game I played. Awesome and fun and definitely up there with Tekken and Soul Calibur for me. Nice to see you guys play it. :)

The deal with Uriko is that weird experiments were performed on her as a little kid, turning her into the Chimera(Uranus is a clone of Uriko), and this screwed with her ability to change naturally so she can only half transform now.
The thing about Uriko is that she was a kid being experimented on by the evil corporation in the first game, and they did something like enhance her abilities so she could transform into a Chimera. But after she was rescued, she lost the ability to become a Chimera, and the experimentation messed up her beastorizing ability, so she can only transform into a half cat beast form.
I'm glad they knew Campbell form MGS is the announcer. I kept saying to myself for many years that the announcer sounds like grandpa Max from Ben 10 lol which the guy who voices Campbell does.
As soon as I saw Primal, I flipped then I noticed Fury... not as psyched for the episode but it proved to be pretty fun to watch. Hopefully will see a Primal Rage in the future.

That big head mode is hilarious. I remember having the same secret in Tekken 2. Chibi heads and chipmunk voices for the win.

ALSO remember that the people who actually MADE the game are Eighting, the people who made Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Marvel vs Capcom 3 (and a bunch of Naruto fighters, a Bleach fighter on PSP, a Zoids fighter, a Fate//Stay Night fighter, a Kenichi fighter, a bunch of Kamen Rider fighters, and they helped with Castlevania Judgement) so they're still around.
There is a bloody roar 4, bloody roar 1-2 on ps1 and 3-4 on ps2
scxcr has been working on the bloody roar retrospective, which goes into great detail about the games, as well as the manga mini-series. If you want to learn a little more about bloody roar, I'd recommend it.
Maximillian Dude is promoting a spiritual successor to Bloody roar in which fans are making everything hand drawn. They already put in Max's dog Bennie. Which looks Hype as fuck! Also Mafioso Shark-man is awesome.

Oh god, bloody roar, I remember this game so fondly, my friend has a bloody roar game on his PS2 and I absolutely loved the guy that was able to turn into a raven, he just felt so good to play for me.

Wow this game takes me back. Hadn't been friends with my Gamecube for long when I got this game, somehow. I honestly can't remember how I got it. Loved the anime cutscenes, the music and it is the first and only Bloody Roar game I played. Awesome and fun and definitely up there with Tekken and Soul Calibur for me. Nice to see you guys play it. :)

The deal with Uriko is that weird experiments were performed on her as a little kid, turning her into the Chimera(Uranus is a clone of Uriko), and this screwed with her ability to change naturally so she can only half transform now.

Yeah, Bloody Roar! The absolute best not-great fighting game ever made!
The thing about Uriko is that she was a kid being experimented on by the evil corporation in the first game, and they did something like enhance her abilities so she could transform into a Chimera. But after she was rescued, she lost the ability to become a Chimera, and the experimentation messed up her beastorizing ability, so she can only transform into a half cat beast form.

As soon as I saw Primal, I flipped then I noticed Fury... not as psyched for the episode but it proved to be pretty fun to watch. Hopefully will see a Primal Rage in the future.

On a casual level? Definitely. If you're looking to make it your competitive game, then no as there is literally no scene anywhere that I know of for this game. But if you can even get a small group into it, the game is stupid fun to play.
