    Pop quiz, hotshot. (Hopefully some of you will catch the "Speed" reference.) You have several lighting or other vehicle accessories that you need to get wired into your vehicle. You need fused power sources, and you need relays and switches. What do you do?
    Well, you could install individual wiring harnesses and have a spaghetti-like mess of wires crawling off of your poor battery. You could also spend $400-$600 for a high end solution, such as an SPOD or Switch Pros setup. Or, if you're like me, you might just be happy with a lower priced, but well thought out system....such as can be found in the Waterproof Fuse Relay Box. What is it? Well, it's named fairly appropriately. ;-) According to the maker of this little gem, "Waterproof Fuse Relay Box is the best option to control your accessories and clean your messy vehicle wiring for a low affordable price!" I think I'd have to agree with that statement....

    I used the same Bussmen fuse/ relay box in my side by side. The wire connections are all weatherpak connects, it was super easy to wire up and makes for a very clean install. If you want to wire your own you can get these boxes for less then $30.

    Hey CPO love the video and I just bought my very own WPFRB my question is when I go to hook up my lights I pretty much just hook the positive and negative wires from the box of the same colors to the neg and pos of the lights....

  • @mikeguitarification
    @mikeguitarification 7 лет назад

    Thanks for the video. Question: What do you do for the grounds for the lights? And what do you do with the grounds for the switches? Diagram looks like only power is going to either from the fuse box, so just wondering how you handled the ground in each case. Thanks.

    How much wire did you have to add to get to switches for the center of dash? Also was the length of the battery cable long enough stock or did you have him add wire to be able to get to same area under hood? I read your review and think you did a great job! Got that Jeep looking good!

    • @o3djeeps
      @o3djeeps  8 лет назад

      +James Rickett Thanks! I asked him to make mine 10ft. and that was just about perfect to get to the switches from where I have mine mounted. I ended up cutting off less than I foot if I recall correctly. The battery cable was just fine but I had it 10ft too. Best thing to do is figure out where you want to mount it, and measure your estimated run to the battery.

    +OVERCLOCK3D - CPO - , would you mind explaining which was the dimmer cable you used in the passenger side? (3:43 into the video)... I have a 15 JKU which would most probably have the same wiring as yours, so wanted to pick your brain on it if you dont mind... Thanks in advance!!

      I have a 2016 Rubicon and I used the power window switch harness and it was the skinny orange wire to the power window switches. This wire can be easily reached from either right or left sides.

    Do you get any parasitic drain on your battery by having all your switches (which I assume are illuminated) hooked to the 12v constant?

    • @o3djeeps
      @o3djeeps  7 лет назад

      Den Bradshaw none of my switches are illuminated when the Jeep is off. The LEDs are fed by the dimmer circuit and the switched power.. which of course is off when the switch is off.

  • @samprokop

      Should be the same as on the 15? I show it briefly in this video at 3:34, but you may be able to see it better in my Rock Hard 4x4 Cage install video.... Look at about 5:45 and 7:18 and 12:35 in this video: ruclips.net/video/uii3iY9WDHM/видео.html

      @@o3djeeps I thought you bought it off Ebay for some reason. I found a similar one for $150, but didn't come with the same length of wires, the wire loom or the fuse. I have a fuse that bought when I thought about making my own relay box.

  • @knightryderbelow

    How did you wire the ground wires from your accessories?

    • @kylevanwinkle2081
      @kylevanwinkle2081 6 лет назад

      knightryderbelow ground to the frame, bare metal on the body, or a factory ground bolt. Ground in a car simply means the chassis. If you wanted you could also run all the way back to the battery negative but that's a lot of wasted wire

    • @knightryderbelow
      @knightryderbelow 6 лет назад

      Kyle Vanwinkle I have multiple accessories to ground what about a bus bar? Would that be overkill? Makes sense about not wasting a bunch a wire, just wanna do it as professional as possible with out any future problems. Tell me what you think?

    • @kylevanwinkle2081
      @kylevanwinkle2081 6 лет назад

      knightryderbelow you can use a bus bar but grounding to the chassis will work just as well and save wire. Looking professional is more about using wire loom and proper wire routing and termination

    • @Reparaturkanal

    • @o3djeeps
      @o3djeeps  8 лет назад +6

      +DJH com well... Tell that to my friend who makes them... Spending hour after hour crimping and cutting --- making these things -- in Maryland, where he lives. Of course he buys the components - which are probably not made in Maryland, in order to build these for you to buy so you don't have to make them on your own.

    • @Reparaturkanal
      @Reparaturkanal 8 лет назад +1

      Ah, I understand. I expected that the person making these is making all of the components, except possibly the wires. Therefore the Mexico sticker brought some confusion. But yours is the best wiring video I've seen so far.
