And Warhammer 3 a 60$ expansion pack disguised as a fully priced title that is a sequel for 2 other 60$ games and yet failed on so many levels got a 9/10 ... the jokes by this IGN reviewer don't end at Pharaoh XD.

Complaining about not passing through a gate while the visit mode has legit a PROGRESS IN WORK warning, in a early access game, is just nitpicking to get a lower score. Same as complaining that your village is being raided by bandits while did not make a militia. Or complaining about the tax office not doing anything even though it's not even implemented!

That's not what he meant, though. The review is on point, and early access has a wide range of possible game conditions. Nightingale is early access, for example, and still has an endgame goal. This game doesn't quite have that amongst other things. It's definitely just a foundation that is a fair review for those who might've expected a lot of content in the early access version.

One dev makes a game that looks amazing and might set new standards for RTS battles while it’s actually a city builder medieval economy simulation and says the game isn’t finished by saying it’s early access. People play it and find bugs. Content creator then points out that the game ain’t finished but not that it’s only one dev.
Then he complained 30 seconds later that the "issue" was he never needed all the combat commands at the bottom cause the combat was too easy (Which isn't the point of Manor lords, its not total war). He can't decide whether he's pro gamer or needs hand held xD
check out Ostriv and Songs of Syx. actual 8/10, 9/10 games. Manor Lords completely pales in comparison to those games. 7/10 is very generous, and of course given how hyped it was now IGN are facing the rage of a giant, unwarranted fandom.

My biggest complaint about your review is that you do not provide context to the games state. This game was created by a SINGLE developer. The fact that it is even in a more playable state at early access launch than many other games produced by larger studios is astonishing. My take: If you have the cash and like the idea of this game, buy it now and help support the developer. If you don’t have the cash or can’t warrant purchasing something unfinished, hold off.

This is one of the more grounded reviews that avoids the hype train of so many other RUclipsrs. While this looks really promising it seems very EA, more alpha than beta.
The problem with these reviews is they dont appreciate this is a new concept combining city builder with RTS battles. They also dont appreciate this is a labour of love from 1 tiny studio (basically 1 guy). Theres a reason this is the most wishlisted game. Roll on when it releases in 1 hour 34 min.
