The reason why they used parody celebrity names is because Konami told not to credit themselves in the game. They were afraid that some other competitors will hire them. So that’s why they stayed anonymous. It was very common in early games back then.
Thanks for reacting to these.😊 They're among my favourite AVGN episodes because of how much the series clearly means to James. I look forward to parts three and four.🙂
Fun fact, "James Banana" was the pseudonym for Kinuyo Yamashita and Satoe Terashima, the two women that made the amazing soundtrack. (The name is a parody of James Bernard, the composer of the 1958 Dracula film) xD
@@lolasroom7171 you should watch the four seasons of Castlevania that came on Netflix. You’ll get to know more of these iconic characters that are in the series, and it’s straight up violent too.

Weird thing about Castlevania 3 was that it was basically the direct source of inspiration for that Netflix anime that came out a while ago. Well, with a lot of changes. Excluding Grant entirely for some reason too.
Actually, it was a weird mix of 3 and a reworked version of Curse of Darkness. Honestly, they should've stuck with just 3 and set up a sequel following Hector and Isaac. Instead of... *That*
I’ve played it the first and third Castevania games. Dracula isn’t as hard of a boss as avgn says. He was easy on the first game. But on the 3rd game, he gets really hard when he reaches his third form. It took me many times but I eventually beat it.
When I was little, we owned Castlevania 1 and 3. (Still do; I found all our old NES games in my storage room, with manuals translated into Swedish and all, just recently. :,)...) I remember playing the 3rd one more than the first, mostly because of all the added features. Never beat it, though... at least not until the days of Emulators when I beat the Japanese Famicom version, which is slightly easier. x,)
10:09 I think it's because the rest are connected to horror authors or actors

Castlevania III is great! But yes... it's brutal! The Japanese version has some things make them easier. Also the music is wonderful in that version! Definitely takes time and patience to play it through. Tough shit!

I had a feeling it was a pseudonym, but I didn't know about all of that.

I think this is the best AVGN videos in my opinion. James has a lot of love for Castlevania series
yeah, I can tell but he got no love for Castlevania 2 Simon's quest, and I don't blame him
@@lolasroom7171 Yeah, Simon’s quest was ehh. The SNES one is the real deal😃
The quest for completing AVGN reaction continues, i'm cheering for you 😁

My favourite Halloween marathon from AVGN. I wished he can review other games in this special edition.
Oooo one of my favorite games.
Interesting fact: James had a shirt on some videos that did say: Castlevania II with the box: What A Terrible Night to Have a Curse.

SO GOOD!
Castlevania is one of the best video game series ever and one of the toughest.

Caddicarus did a two part review of "Casper: A Spirited Beginning" that you need to check out. It's the second live action Casper movie.
I want to meet James Banana and the Green Stranger.
