Awesome video guys! Back in late 70’s, I bought my last box of paper shells, they were Peter’s blue shells in #4 lead. That year the limit was 4 ducks, I hunted by my self that morning, in marsh that I grew up hunting in with my daddy. Anyway, I shot 4 of those Blue Peter’s that morning and killed 4 ducks, 3 mallards and a green wing teal, all 3 mallards were banded, 2 were banded in Canada and the other was banded in Georgia. I don’t have a favorite band, I have 3 favorite bands, I still hunt occasionally in that same marsh in Georgia
Coolest band story I was ever apart of was with my dad and grandpa. I green head came in that was a double banded Jack Miner “I walk amongst ye.” The next duck he shot was also another banded greenhead. -Kentucky
Ultimate band for me happened this year. My golden got put down Thanksgiving week 2023. I got a black lab who made his first hunt on January 4th. First retrieve was on a Woodie Drake. First retrieve was his first band!

I crippled a banded green head on a guided hunt in Stuttgart. It was the last bird of our 6 man limit. We didn't know it was banded at the time and new it was going to be a long shot retrieve for the lab, and we sent him after it. Bird was still pretty healthy and we lost sight of it and the dog. a minute later, the dog came back with it and it was banded. It was ELECTRIC to end the hunt on it. Tough thing was, the guide kept it and didn't give it to me! Who should have gotten the band? Some decoys from yall will be a great consolation prize for it! Love the video amigos. Bands are more about the memories for myself, who was there and the joy of seeing silver on the leg! But if I had to pick I’d say a Money Band Mallard Drake!
Double banded goose with $100 reward! One of the greatest memories I have with my dad. We had a flock of 6 come in and we shot 4 between the 2 of us. They fell just deep enough in a pond that we could only get 1 of them. It turned out to be banded so we were pumped. Had to wait about 2 hours for them to float across the pond shallow enough we could get them. When we finished the hunt, we packed up and drove around to the other side on our way out. Turns out all 4 of them were banded. To this day, I’m not sure who really killed it but he insisted I did. The excitement was unforgettable. I only hope to be able to share moments like that with my boy - mbradshaw757

I was in Jonesboro hunting off in pan handle of MO this past week and buddy the amount of ice i had to break up was insane. I even had ice eaters running overnight. You guys seemed to have had a nice ice free pocket. Also my last duck of the week was an American Black Duck. Buddy got 2 pin tails and we had several Mallards. Was a mixed bag this trip!
Dream band happened this past year in some flooded buck brush. Winged a drake mallard, lost him for about an hour. Sent my dog on a blind after we killed our ducks and she tracked him down. This was her first year duck hunting, so pretty cool in my books, and my first band. - hholman5
Dream band for me would be either a stud drake wigeon/storm wigeon or a stud drake woodie. We don’t get too many wigeon up here in the arrowhead region of NE Minnesota so that would be an absolute dream. We do get a lot of woodies thought but they’re still awesome. Favorite band was first one I ever shot. Didn’t even know significance behind them at the time when I was 16. my mom threw it away, tracked down certificate 20 later and got a replica made and now on my lanyard finally!
Dream band would be on a albino Canada goose! Spotted two albinos early season with a local flock of Canada’s but as the season went on lost track of them and no sighting since!
I have never shot a band before so if if I got a first it would be a scoter duck. They are very rarely banded so it would make my first band incredible.
