I’d bet the Gemkick is on the development roadmap as their upcoming agent framework. Gems are the custom Gemini models you can create, it’s likely an amalgamation of gem and sidekick.
Good guess. I spent a little time off the stream and came to a similar conclusion.
I’m really not impressed with Gemini for Workspace and it isn’t even worth the extra $2, but at the same time I think this will end up being one of the best implementations of AI after a year or so.
I'd agree. I've had some more time to give it a solid try and, perhaps beyond limited cookie cutter brainstorming it doesn't really produce any decent results. That, in conjunction with chips that have limited to no API support I'm just not a huge fan of MVPing things to death. I can appreciate the idea and in the right disciplined hands I would imagine it will be a good tool in the future.
I feel we are in a bit of a singularity event similar to the smart phone where I just can see where LLMs like Gemini for Workspace will end up and what the long term consequences will be for good or ill.
@@yagisanatode I'm afraid I'm in the doomer camp. Gemini will eventually have the best implementation and integration, but it devalues everything human that is on the internet - with an exception for public personalities and people with their real face out there. Would I really want to employ many people that will effectively just do AI prompts? That's a job for one assistant, at most.
Your points for the Gemini for Gmail were great. People don't need to read or write any actual content in email, docs or messages ever again.
It's a simple example, but in just 5 mins, Google's AI Studio made me a fully styled and branded HTML contact form and AppScript to fill out a Google Sheet with responses, whilst simultaneously sending an email with the contents, obfuscating the MailApp class default address for better readability, and adding a reply-to address with the email field. Another 10 mins would probably create a full-featured CRM with integrations.
