I did the same on my 2012 impreza and it works great, the only problem is when I turn on my lights the traction control light comes on and ABS. The dealer changed the brakelight switch and I changed the flasher switch but no change.
Hey there I’m having issues wiring this in. I followed the same thing you did, splicing in before the OEM connector but the lights aren’t functioning as expected. I also have the same issue that the ABS, TCR & hill hold lights are coming on. Wondering if you have some advice

Keep me posted, how are you coping? Do you have hill assist, can you turn traction control off ?
Same. I have been wondering if adding a resistor of some sort would fix this issue..
