- This video is meant to show the corresponding MPH to each gear's RPM range. I tried to accelerate smoothly and shift as close to 6000 rpm for each gear change.

I've also noticed that shifting at higher RPM is waaaayyyy smoother than following Kawi's recommended MPH before shifting. I'm not going 6k RPM, but maybe around 4,500. Will definitely try extending that though, thanks!
Hey - Love your vids :)
What is that wind deflector on top of the windshield and wher did you buy it? Is it working for you. I also have Puig windshield for Vulcan S and it gives me a lot of wind buffeting around the chin area. Does that wind deflector help with that?
Thanks!
I experienced that buffeting as well and ordered this the same day I installed the main windscreen. It helps a ton. It is very easy to install and can be put in a wide variety of positions depending on where you want the wind to go.

I should have also mentioned that I ordered size MEDIUM; in 'light smoke' to match the windscreen that I have.
im about to buy a 1017 k v s with abs as a first bike , any reasons why i should or shouldnt? do's or dont's
This is my 'first' bike and it has been fantastic. I rode dirtbikes as a kid, but never rode street until I purchased the Vulcan S in November of '16. It has all the power I need right when I want it. It works great as a cruiser when I want to be chill, and has the power to be a bit hooligan if I feel a bit crazy. Just sit on a bunch of bikes and ride what you can to find the right fit for your style and needs.
Hi! Thanx 4 your video. Can anybody please clarify which is the actual RPM that Kawasaki manual saids? Just to know.
J. Jose e The manual doesn't tell RPM shift points, but shows vehicle speed for shift points. Keep in mind this is from the manual so it's the most economical shift points....not the most practical. 1st to 2nd - 9 mph.
2nd to 3rd - 15 mph.
3rd to 4th - 21 mph.
4th to 5th - 27 mph.
5th to 6th - 34 mph.
How is the vibration at speeds above 60mph?
Very little. It's smoooooth.
Just by listening I think this engine needs more rpm for gear change. At least for the higher gears 4-6.
