- Welcome back to another exciting episode of the Colvic Watson project! In Episode 9, we dive headfirst into a massive undertaking as we strip away layers of paint to reveal the gel coat beneath. Join us as we meticulously prepare the pull pit for a fresh varnish, restoring its former glory.
But that's not all! Our journey continues into the heart of the vessel as we tackle the engine room. From inspecting the exhaust manifold for repairs to prepping every nook and cranny for a fresh coat of paint, we leave no bolt unturned.
And if that wasn't enough action for you, we also take a detour with Matt's other boat, Onward, for a scenic trip to the Marina. Watch as we lift her out of the water for some essential antifouling and cosmetic touch-ups, ensuring she's shipshape for her next voyage.
Join us for this epic installment of the Colvic Watson project, where every turn of the wrench brings us closer to perfection. Don't miss out on the adventure - hit that play button now!

That makes a change to see the slings roped together to avoid them slipping apart
Definitely this best way 🙏⛵️
more of this please
Will do 🙏⛵️
Nice work boiz loving your vidZ
Thanks Simon ⛵️🙏 it’s always appreciated
I think that green is much nicer matt it’s like ocean green it will look amazing when it’s sanded back and polished 👍
Great video, can't wait for the next one. Really cool to see the different jobs that are going on 😊
There is definitely a lot going on at once at the moment, more to come soon ⛵️
Is it just me or are the videos much better with Matt on camera instead of the usual old bloke 😂❤
🤣🤣🤣 thanks Tommo 🤣 I age weekly much faster because of all the sanding 🙏⛵️🤣
@@BoatzUK The dust makes your hair white too Cliff 🤣🙈
It’s already getting white without the dust 🤣🙏 but it’s definitely the dust that’s making me look old ⛵️🤣
@@BoatzUK and all the stress of trying to provide top quality boating content for all your fans 😜
@@fat_tommo_goes_boating I go through weeks of hard sanding so you don’t have too 🤣 also showing the reasons weekly on why not to buy a boat 🤣🙏⛵️🛥️
on that manafould you could use a buglehead bold with a washer
This is great advice, and it’s always appreciated 🙏⛵️
Your turning that anti-clockwise for a left hand thread
It’s the video, shot mirror image type thing from the camera as it was filmed with the phone, good spotting 🤣⛵️🙏
The drill size for M10 is 8.5, if it measured 8.6 before you started you was already on size for the tap. For metric take the pitch away from the diameter to find the drill size (M10x1.5 = 8.5 drill)
Must have used 8.5 and just got mixed up when I was recording! No way it was only .5 thread.
Matt has hopefully that question in the comment 👆🏻⛵️🙏
Use studs instead bolts
Definitely a better idea ⛵️
It was weired seeing the tapping going the wrong way round. Then i noticed the back to front writing. Maybe you used a phone to record it.
Your a 100% correct, didn’t realise until the video was edited 🤣 well spotted ⛵️🙏
What’s happening with the £1 boat bud?
Will be back soon with that, day job has got in the way a little 🤣🙏⛵️
Recoil or Helicoil inserts are great for stripped threads if you want to keep the original diameter 👍🛥️🏴
Yea perfect for keeping it the original, thank you 🙏 ⛵️
