I think it actually IS the definition of 'impressive as fuck'. I mean, I watched my 1SG quick draw his 9mm and shoot an Iraqi guy right through the hand at 25+ yards because he was holding what looked like a pistol (was a flashlight)...and I thought that was impressive as fuck!
Glad to hear it. I put a lot of effort into staying as faithful to the melody as possible, so when people get the urge to sing along that means I'm doing something right :)
Ernesto, man, there's truth in your work. Your cover's fantastic, but what I enjoy most is watching you play. It's easy to see how the song moves through you.
Even if you’re not a Tool fan... how the hell does this not have atleast 10mil views??? This is incredible. As is everything I’ve seen of Ernesto’s, but this... my God... this is a masterpiece. And “masterpiece” is a sub-par description. Cheers Sir, you’re awesome.
I'm not a tool fan and I mean that with no disrespect, I'm not especially familiar with their work or the genre. This is the first time I've heard Lateralus played, and I can say in my humble opinion Ernesto is a musical genius.
Still one of my favourites this version of the song DOESN'T MiSS A BEAT.......absolute perfection.......which is NOT an easy thing to acquire when playing a tool song.....as I'm sure many ppl including myself know..... I've been a tool fan for many many years.......since I was 16years old. I'm now 42. still my favourite band of all time. To me, this is just as good as the actual song. Love your work brother. Well earnt title of the BEST TOOL song & player I've ever seen/heard. " (Just my opinion ppls)" Ppls-Please don't hate on me- send your hate to where it's needed.....your local gym....or police station
Okay, wow. You know that feeling when you find something you didn't know you were searching for but always kind of hoped existed? I feel like the universe just gave me a great gift. All of these covers are amazing. Thank you so much for this!
Been watching this several times over the past years and, somehow, I still can't hold back a tear or two, I don't know why. I can't imagine how much hard work is behind Ernesto's covers, but what amazes me the most is the passion he transmits. Much respect, Ernesto. Thanks for your work.
I don't get it. How you can play all 4 parts, with an accuracy that lets me sing along and allows my head to hit the changes right when I expect them. One guy, one guitar, one shot. You are phenomenal.
His strap blends in so well with his shirt it looks like the guitar is just floating in front of him. And if it was, that is the only thing that could make this more amazing.
Parabola I gave u a thumbs up just for your name!!! And yaaaaasss to the new album!! But this guy here is amazing! I’m a true TOOL fan, so it takes a lot to impress me as far as covers go. This is phenomenal ....
I like how in between the parts where you transition from both hands on the neck to strumming you simply play a single tap on the body of the guitar. Simple yet effective.
That is one of the most amazing things I've ever heard. I can't tell you how impressed I am. I never listen to Tool covers because in the past I've felt they just shouldn't be touched. But you. Wow! You are awesome! Keep it up.
Just my own biased category. When a band has such an incredibly unique sound, typically people just butcher them. Making a song sound worse and not enhance it. Pink Floyd and Tool are in that category for me. To me some select bands ARE different from other bands because they are not generic. What? I'm passionate! Let me have my biases... :-P
Your can see just how intensely the music comes from some special place deep inside you, and translates itself through your whole body and out your finger tips. There is NOTHING more powerful to me than music, except for love, and it's clear you love the music. Absolutely awesome.
After at least 52 times hearing your version of this ( A masterpiece in it's own right. ) at about the 7 minute mark I always find myself saying " With my feet upon the ground I lose myself between the sounds, and open wide to suck it in and feel it move across my skin. I'm reaching up and reaching out I'm reaching for the random or whatever will bewilder me whatever will bewilder me. And following our will and wind we may just go where no one's been, we'll ride the spiral to the end and may just go where no one's been. Spiral out! Keep going. "
Well uhhh... goddamn. It’s even better when you’re a fan and know what he is doing and why, and how he is matching parts of the song so well.. with one fucking instrument. Awesome man.
Oh my god. How am I just now finding this?! All I can say is wow. I'm speechless. You're really inspiring, man. I've never seen anything like this. You have complete mastery of your instrument. I'm gonna shut up now. Subbed.
I randomly clicked on the 46&2 (wtf) cover, then saw Right in Two (jesus christ), and now Lateralus (holy fuck). game over for me. I'll be in the corner over there, for 5-7 days, with weed, headphones and a repeat button, spiralling out. see y'all next week

I will learn his style and use it to influence my own technique as should all musicians

When Jimi sang: I am standing next to a mountain....he was talking about Ernesto's soul....But even Jimi could not cut it down with the edge of his hand. Nothing could contain the soul of Ernesto - ....whoa.
Looking through your other posts Jebus, one has to say that you appear to be typically American, racist and above all stupid. My wife doesn’t like Tool. But she absolutely loves these versions of their songs. She’s an idiot on the first point. Definitely not the second. Great stuff sir.
Its rumored that this man is a jester who crossed a time portal created by Tool in order to learn this song for his king. The king had asked him to play him the best song ever created, else his life would be taken. The mans life, rather being saved, was granted immortality under the condition that he must play Lateralus continuously until he reaches the end of the spiral. To this day, he has been riding the spiral, and he has indeed gone where no one's been. Keep going, guy. Keep going.

Even an acoustic guitar can be used for metal. And this cover proves it. You have my respect. 😊
Man, tool has some metalish songs, but this one's definitely just hard rock. Even their guitarist doesn't like them being labelled as metal.
