- My heart was beating so fast watching this MV and I seriously have never felt this way watching a TWICE's MV ... this speaks level. This was a slap in the face, they slapped me with their beauty, talent and power. This really screamed "we're powerful women and know it" / "this is TWICE's world and we're living in it". Everything way amazing, the concept, the song, the MV, the execution, the styling, I'm telling you E-VE-RY-THING about this is giving me life.

I truly think this is a diss track to haters and sasaengs. The Jihyo lines “I don’t need your love” and “don’t make me hate you.” The Mina lyric “My punishment for embracing my dreams”. And all the fans in masks could represent all the faceless online “fans”. All the chaos happening around them representing fandom wars, hate, industry chaos. All the while they keep performing even when things are crazy around them.

I'd wondered after first seeing Perfect World what would the reaction been if JYP had flipped the K and J comebacks this Spring/Summer. (And not taking anything away from Alcohol Free - the world needed a summer jam, and we got one in that!). I think Perfect World would've gone off like a supernova. Especially if it'd gotten the English/international treatment.
Production wise I think they invest more in JP cbs compared to Kr cbs.

The song Perfect World is about a woman letting go of her man, telling him to Get Out, Get Lost, as it is not a Perfect World for them both, to leave her before she hates him more. The MV itself may refer to "saesangs" or stalker fans, TWICE asking them to stay away. Also, TWICE will keep on performing whatever the world's state may be, shown by the crowd being rowdy and the stage set on fire,As it may not be a Perfect World for Onces and TWICE. Pretty intense! 😎😎😎 Angry Twice is in da haus!

no i disagree with that, the powerful and girl crush concept is already overused in kpop and even if twice have a unique way to express it we already had enough of kpop song with this concept. It s so much better a jp comeback since it brings something new to kpop and the kr comeback was perfect for summer

I wouldn't compare this to AF though because comparing those two would be like apples and oranges, they're completely different. I don't think it would justify either songs to say that I like one better than the other, i like them both equally but they're just different genres.

This song and MV is a cathartic moment for TWICE, since (I'm sure you already are aware) it takes the element of an actual stalker Nayeon had at the time, as well as the bulling Jihyo received since the beginning, to create a song about the superficiality of certain relationships. The "muted" part is to show how some people just focus on the exterior (their faces), but completely ignore other's feelings and never see them as real persons. They just want a perfect act.
