The fact that LOVE means "Level Of ViolencE" adds additional meaning to the song. Mettatons ability to inflict pain comes from the part of himself that isn't artificial: the soul animating his electronic body. He's fighting to save people, but still an interesting thought I think.

Maybe the purpose of fighting in this game is like adrenaline. That maybe, *maybe*, there is a link to that somewhere in this whole game. Maybe that monsters in the underworld never really have experienced love and therefor never could truly know what love is. If I would place it, in a sense that people have it (subconsciously), is that our love is Parental. That our parents taught us love when we were a child and not LOVE. MAYBE, that is why the monsters needed more human hearts.This kinda makes sense to me :’D
‘A robot trying to save people by fighting’ feels sane enough to me. In a way that a robot can be instructed in a way to fight, or maybe the robot is more connected as human than monsters? Question: Mettaton is made by Alphys, is it possible she used a human heart for something like that?
