I was at SummerSlam ‘90 and got to see Ravishing Rick Rude vs. Ultimate Warrior in a cage. He called the crowd “Pennsylvania piss ants.” As SummerSlam was at the Philadelphia Spectrum that year. Great memories.
The Ravishing One! Glad the Summer Slam Elite 77 Series made in your top 5. I just picked up Rick Rude as soon as I saw at my local collector’s shop for $20 brand new. At 1st I was wondering where the robe was since it was kinda hidden in the packaging. It was wrapped up separately inside. A great looking iconic figure!
Rude was great. One of those guys who if his career had started later, Attitude Era forward with all the TV main events and PPVs, he would have been a multi-time world champion. My favorite Rude figure is the Classic Superstars. It was my first Rude figure and just one of those timing things where I got it and loved it. The latest Elite is great and I was lucky enough to get both versions with the jacket packed to the side, but that Classic Superstars will always be special to me. But man, that UK figure is amazing! I had no idea it existed. I really want a short-haired Rude too and a basic in a suit would be awesome.
I think if he didn’t suffer that injury and didn’t leave in protest of the Montreal Screwjob, he could easily be like the Undertaker in being an Golden Age star hanging around with the newer talent in the late 90’s and having noteworthy AE moments to his credit.
Can't believe I missed this. We need a legends rude. That dangerous alliance was awesome. Loved his feuds with my guy Jake the snake
Rick Rude is very underrated real life & figs. Not to offend but not everyone got good matches out of Ultimate Warrior which speaks a lot.

The Hasbro one was the FIRST figure I bought (with Series 1 Warrior) when I got into wrestling. I have both Mattel Summer Slam 90 ones too, have a robe on both. And I have both the Rude’s at number 1 too

I think Hogan and Rick Rude had a match at a house show at MSG in 1988 or so. I need to get the Elite 77 Rick Rude.
@@MachoManNRock I watched the match and yes Rick stole the show. I was shocked by how strong Rick Rude was. There was a point in the match where he put Hogan up in a back breaker over his shoulder. Also I was wrong. This match was at the Boston Gardens, not MSG.
Honestly i'm surprised Rick Rude wasn't WWF champion. Because Rick's typically a Vince McMahon guy. He's Big, a good looking muscular man who can work. And make anyone look like a good wrestler. For whatever reason Vince didn't want Rick as his champion.
Because he was a heel. Back then, heels didn’t win the top belt, or if they did, they dropped it fairly quickly.
Never seen the UK one. Pure dopeness. #1 was exactly the one i thought it would be. Gonna try to get 1 this year

Biggest issue I have with the Legends fig is that it doesn’t have the Warrior artwork on the back. Understandable since Warrior wasn’t under contract at the time. Probably coulda done it with the UK exclusive tho.
That Classic Superstars fig surpasses any Elite so far imo. The gold title, the red robe, the loud tights. A beauty!

The Ravishing Rick Rude figures are a particular line that show off the slow and gradual evolution in improvement and it took a long ass time to get good/great Rick Rude figures. LJN figure was horrible, Hasbro was passable, Jakks were pretty good but typical Jakks got lazy on the paint jobs and it wasn't until Mattel came along that we got some great figure. My personal favorite is his Mania 4 outfit and then the SummerSlam 89 tights that came out a little while back.
Top 3 want list of Rick Rude figures
1: The "cyborg legs" he wore in WCW in 1993/1994
2: The tights he wore at the 1990 Rumble. Jakks tried doing a figure based on this one but it didn't come off as good as it should have.
3: total toss up. Any of the colored tights from 1988 with the hands or women's faces printed on them. I think Cheryl Roberts tights might be out of the question.
I think the biggest omission right now is DX/nWo. Could easily be a 2 in 1 with a beard head and mustache head.

Classic Superstars Rick Rude would easily be my favourite had Jakks not skimped out on the deck on the back of the legs. Not having the ANY of the "Ravaging" deco continue on the back was such a massive disappointment when I pulled him out of the package. Because of that, I find it even worse than the LJN

The only thing about the hasbro I didn’t like was his boring tights.
I believe Hogan wouldn't wrestle Rick because of an altercation with Warrior in the locker room where Rick had set Warrior straight. That is a rumor and I believe Flair said it so it could be complete garbage. That said, Hogan and Rude wrestled each other once on a house show in Boston. That's it.

This one’s gonna be easy. All Mattel. Hasbro and LJN were both really bad figures. I love the attire choice for Jakks CSS but that head is horrible. Not a fan of the Deluxe Classic.
